Reeves is more selective than Hawkins which could bold well for him I believe he’s a bit older as well
Every single thing about this summer league was horrible. Literally did nothing and showed nothing.
Yeah but he was rarely used other than that. Even Popeyes Jones once had a good summer league game. It’s just that none of them were even remotely consistent besides Ford and he may not even get a training camp invite. Just kidding. Popeye wasn’t a bad player. I just wish they would have featured the guys who are on the roster more. They featured Hawkins and I wish they didn’t. Lol.

Hawkins is what he is. Off-ball quick-release shooter, with ability to score midrange and drive if they play him tight. That's all he'll ever be. He still needs to keep working hard at his defense, but it shouldn't be too hard for him to be as good or better than CJ in that regard. He'll have nights where he catches fire and off nights too. Still a valuable commodity.
Honestly have to question Griff’s ability to draft guards. Kira over Maxey. And, of the six picks that came after Hawkins, think I would rather 4 of them over Hawk based on the admittedly very early returns (Keyonte George, Jaime Jaquez, Podziemski, and Cam Whitmore). Dyson was a known defensive quantity when drafted and I think there’s still hope for his offense (which made him a decent trade chip for Dejounte).
Folks complaining about the summer league, nothing to see here. Wake me up when the regular season begins.
Reeves finally showing from 3 which I like. Hawk needs to beef up a bit of summer league is any indication. It doesn?t mean much as summer league and the NBA are completely different beasts, but would have liked to see him perform. Not the end of the world though. He is not playing with his usual teammates and the summer league team as a whole is bad compared to previous years.
I think it showed some things. If you measure it by wins and losses, then ok. But it made me feel a little better about the development at the center position. A bit better. The guard play wasn't too good given the turnovers, and Hawkins was out of place because of what he was asked to do. He has more work there. I liked Reeves and thought Brooks looked ok at times.
One guy who was consistently good in summer league was Ford. He was not on my radar at all, but I couldnt help but be impressed by how he ran the offense. I dont know if there is room for him but he would be a good option for 3rd string point guard if there is a spot for that.
