We spent the last 5 weeks learning that BI as combo scorer/distributor was good, Trey is versatile and needs more shots, Herb works best given some on ball responsibility, etc, and then tonight we just through 90% of that learning in the garbage so that we can have a ton of short actions and isos and freeze Trey out for entire quarters at a time.

Saying that CJ's shooting problems result from an injury is fair.

But if that's the case HE needs to wake up and turn his brain on and stop shooting 25 SHOTS IN A GAME.

He is 9/24 from the floor tonight. 0/5 from 3. And he just keeps on jacking them up. Sometimes he'll do it with 18 seconds on the shot clock before even a single pass has been made in the half-court.

That is him messing up. The problem isn't the missed shot, though that sucks. The problem is that he doesn't appear to recognise he's got a shooting problem - no matter how many times you repeat it - and therefore he is not making the smart basketball decision to adjust his game into a different approach.

The problem is not the FG%, that is simply a consequence of the problem. The problem is that he is refusing to adjust and often resorts - as he has tonight - to a selfish form of basketball.
