If the Lakers get the 6th by one game over the Pels, they did it on November 2nd compliments of Matt Ryan (no, not that Matt Ryan). For those of who have forgotten:

-- Pels were up by three with 1.4 seconds left in the Fourth Quarter.
-- To get to OT they had to hit a three.
-- It was Laker ball in their frontcourt at the stripe (left side of basket)
-- Austin Reeves was the IN bounder.
-- Naji was on Matt Ryan and 3M3 was on AD
-- AD picked off Naji at foul line right
-- Ryan bolts to far right baseline.
-- Reeves hits Ryan on crosscourt pass
-- 3M3 is late getting out to Ryan
-- Ryan hits the three taking game to OT

    Everybody knows what happened next.

You forgot something. Pels were up by 3 and had 2 FT to seal the game. Dyson missed both of them.

That loss, and Houston loss i will not forget for years...

Monty needs to do the team a solid because Phoenix will be at the center of it all.

Suns play against Lakers and Clippers. Question is if they will rather play one of them or the Warriors. It is also the question if those teams would rather play suns or risk playin...it is impossible to say...to much possibillities

They play the Lakers (conveniently for the Lakers) on a road b2b in a game Phoenix will not need. They are pretty much locked into 4th.

The question is who might they sit? Everybody? Just CP3? CP3 and Booker? Or do they try to get some continuity with Durant.

The answer is they'll sit everybody because...pelicans.

Same for the Clipper game after that.

So what's our actual path to avoiding the play-in now?

LAL, LAC, GSW each drop 1 game and we win both?

I think both LAC and GSW need to lose and we win both. We own the conference record against both, own tiebreaker against LAC and tied head-to-head with GWS.

But wouldn't we be cooked because of LAL if LAL wins both? That would put put all 4 teams at 43 wins.

I dont know about a 4-way tie. But a 3-way between LAL, LAC, and NOP--NOP comes out on top.

First tie-breaker is teams combined record against the others. LAC swept LAL 4-0, and NOP swept LAC 3-0.

    NOP 4-3
    LAC 4-3
    LAL 3-5

That leaves NOP vs LAC and Pels obviously won that series.

Now add Golden St and see how it comes out.

If its 4 way tie we are on top but that is not that great because that means we are playing the Suns.

  13. #113
The most optimal outcome is Pels win these last 2 (which is highly questionable as it is) and...

Clippers drop 1 or... Clippers + Warriors drop 1 each.

Happy outcome is Lakers lose both.

It sure would be nice to hear that Jose and Zion will return.

I kinda remember Jose's timeline being a week after the end of the season. May be wrong on that.

Honestly, 7th sounds good to me IF Zion gets back. Two home games to make the playoffs is winnable and gives him some time to shake some rust off before Game 1 of a series.
    Good positive energy.

    But also, yo mama's fat.

Jose's timeline was re-evaluation in ''2-3 weeks'' on March 22nd.

So that's either basically now, or in a week.

I wouldn't count on Jose being back this season. Those stress reactions have a tendency to linger. Dude was just shooting from a chair recently lol.

I'm hopeful we get a taste of Zion in the playoffs.

I was just clarifying the timeline we had been given, not saying whether or not I think that's likely.

No worries, my post was more in general and not necessarily directed to you even though I qouted you.

Phoenix will definitely lay down and not play anybody tomorrow against the Lakers.

Only hope is they use their last game as a tune up against the Clippers.

Then the Pelicans somehow beat the Twolves. Don't think the Knicks will play Brunson tomorrow.

Legend has it that the Roman philosopher Brosephus crafted the word 'sanctimonious' in honor of our good friend Mac.

Wow, MM has gone full blown narcissist and is even attacking Antonio Daniels to try to once again prove himself right. What an **********hole.

Aside from being a jerk, he's also just wrong. The world population passed 8 billion a while back, so there's a lot more than 7 billion people.
