Pelicans November 23rd - New Orleans Pelicans @ San Antonio Spurs - 10-7

Pels homestand ends and we hit the road - this time, to take on the Spurs who are currently 6-12. They have lost 5 consecutive games and have only won one game in their last 11. The Spurs are currently a team that sucks, really bad.

So naturally, the signs of a trap game are in the air. Pels need to hit the road with a sense of urgency - the fact that they're a bad team means nothing because anyone can beat anyone on their night. The next 5 games are a big opportunity for the Pelicans but that also presents the challenge of expectations: good teams get the job done. Let's see what happens.
    Basketball.

San Antonio seems to have officially entered the Wemby stakes. They are at the bottom of almost every defensive category.

Then again, game 18 is not the time to pay attention to any stats.

I actually view tonight much as I did the Warriors contest.... need to focus and play the game the right way to take care of business against an undermanned team....

Sucks but, frankly, it shouldn't matter. Spurs are woeful right now. A team fielding Zion/Ingram/JV/Herb/Jose/Nance should still be able to win, especially when you consider it should mean dyson minutes.

Jose gets the start, predictably things look good.

Zion and JV are just crushing the Spurs right now.

Guy splits Nance open with an elbow, no foul call, and a tech on Willie Green. cool cool cool

10 point lead after the first, and frankly it should be larger. Not too bad a start.

This team just doesn't get foul calls. Even games where we do get a lot of calls, it's only because there was a foul on every play and they called 1/3rd of them lmao

I wonder what motivates Popovich to keep coaching.

zion just dribbled down length of the floor and took it straight to the basket strong over two defenders

I’m almost scared to acknowledge how great we’re playing.

Just caveat it with ''I know we're only playing the Spurs, but...'' and everyone will understand

Devonte is feeling it this game

You know it's bad for them right now when Ingram has taken precisely 1 shot all night, they're hitting all kinds of difficult looks, and they're still down 16.
