For real. Watching the games is really not as horrible an experience as some people would think just from looking at the (obviously tragic) W/L record. The team competes. There's clearly a shortage of real top end talent, which is to be expected when both of your all-stars are out injured, but the guys who are here aren't completely talentless, and everyone who gets minutes puts in effort. We compete and compete and compete, which is all you can really ask. Sometimes that's just not enough to win, but you can't expect more than 100% and that's what they give.
    Basketball.

If nothing else comes from tonight hopefully Trey gets his confidence back. He got a WWE style POP from the crowd on that and 1.

That heat check 3 tho... just gonna forget that one lol

The "veteran" Temple with the -21 plus minus

The "rookie" Trey Murphy with the +18.

Kinda interesting to see how much this offense opened up when Sato had his nice stretch in the 2nd half.

Even the smallest glimpse of a second unit guard opened this team up big time. Obviously he just had this one okay game, but really shows how much having to rely on Kira/Sato to facilitate for the 2nd unit is hurting us.

    For real.

The beautiful thing that will happen if/when Zion and Ingram both take the court together is that suddenly someone like NAW will get shunted down to the bench, and when NAW plays within himself (like he has done for about 4 games this year) he's really good - this should be something he finds easier and more consistent when he's playing against backup guards rather than starters, one would hope.

It also opens the door to having either Ingram or Zion on the floor at all times, and we already know how good Zion+bench units can be: they were our best lineups last year, and annihilated anyone they played against, because the roles were so clear and Zion is such a force (again, especially against bench units, who have absolutely nothing for him).

Given how the guys have played, how hard they've fought, and how close they've kept so many of these games despite losing, I can't help but feel that if Zion and Ingram were both 100% healthy and stayed healthy through all of our first 13 games, we'd be like 8-5 right now.

It?s solving our dead weight problem. Our bench unit would?ve looked a lot better if instead of Satoransky we had Patrick Beverly and Hernangomez we had?literally any big who can challenge shots and rebound. But if Sato can find some pace. Like a soccer player. He?s not been existing in any kind of flow.
