Pelicans April 2nd - New Orleans Pelicans vs Atlanta Hawks - 21-26

I mis-typed the record in the name of the last game-day thread and sadly we lost it, therefore the title is the same today but this time it's accurate.

Tonight we take on the 24-24 Atlanta Hawks, who are 2-4 over their last 6 games after a 6 game win-streak post allstar break got them up to above .500.

25th in DRtg and 9th in ORtg, the Hawks are - in that respect - a bit like a slightly less overcharged Pelicans. The offense is a touch worse, but the defense is a touch better, and the result is that they have a slightly better record and a slightly better net rating overall.

Still, the Hawks are currently ravaged by injury. DeAndre Hunter missed their last game, John Collins is out for a week, and both Dunn and Reddish have been out for a while and aren't looking to return just yet. Sadly, we have no idea yet if we'll be able to take advantage of that: after all, Ingram, Zion, and Lonzo all missed last game and we don't yet have word as to whether any of them will be back tonight. I'll update the thread later if/when I see any news on that.

Let's home one or more of our guys return and we can have a bit of a bounce back game tonight after a close loss last game.
    Basketball.

The odds of us blowing another double digit lead look great! That would make #14 I think. I lost count. Imagine if we had one those games.

And no Hart either. May as well see if you can forfeit

....and Adams played over 36 minutes last night, while Bledsoe played almost 46 minutes. I wouldn't miss this game for anything.

Oof. More time for the young guys, but damn. This would be one of our biggest wins of the season if we found a way to win this one.

What felt like an injury free season was just a late boomer to a regular Pelicans season

Injuries come for everyone. If you make it out of the first half of the year basically untouched, thats just tempting fate

I hope we play Naji Marshall some good minutes. I feel like he can be a decent addition to the bench if given the chance.

I guess I'd rather all my injuries at once for a few weeks as opposed to scattered amongst starters throughout the whole season like we usually do.

What sucks is that they were playing so dang gum well before they decided to go tanking. Wonder if we will see Zion or BI again this year?

So, just as a last minute tally

    For the Pels:
    - No Zion
    - No Ingram
    - No Lonzo
    - No Adams
    - No Hart

    For the Hawks
    - No Trae
    - No Hunter
    - No Collins
    - No Gallinari
    - No Reddish
    - No Dunn

This is set to be a real thrill ride

Hart's injury also confirmed to be a semi-serious one. Not career threatening or anything but he's going to miss time for sure.

Agreed. It will change when you stop posting on this board. That is the origin of 99 percent of the stupidity.

You realize no one cares what you believe? The universe cares so little about Macdonald.

Bledsoe is still the worst player on the court at all times.
