Thread: January 21st - New Orleans Pelicans @ Utah Jazz - 5-8

    From the first half:

    Ingram: 20 points, 8/10 shooting, 4/5 from 3. 0/0 from the line
    Zion: 14 points, 4/7 shooting, 1/1 from 3. 5/7 from the line.

So that's a cool 34 points on 12/17 shooting (70.6%) including 5/6 from 3 (83.3%) from our 2 main guys. Great! Now to check on what our two starting guards have put up.

    15 points on 6/17 shooting (35.3%) and 1/5 from 3 (20%) you say? Oh I see.
    Basketball.

We have two candidates with potential.. Not sure if they're the answer but I'd give them time and opportunity to grow and develop in that area.

SVG really doesn't want to rock the boat but Lonzo and Bled just can't play together. One has to go to the bench.

The thing I like about Bledsoe is he is very willing to be hands off and let others touch the ball. The reason that is bad for this team is Lonzo Ball happens to be the other guard and there is absolutely no playmaking. That and if Bledsoe is ‘off the ball,’ he happens to be a VERY streaky shooter rather than a consistent one, so you never know what you will get from him. So if he isn’t creating for others or hitting shots, we are screwed

Same. Just a bit of consistency or something

It bothers me... Lewis is a certified playmaker with his wheel, but it's how you build a culture. Got to earn minutes.

jazz free throws are wild lol....

we run and gunning and were winning the game...we play slow ball and give up the lead....

stan takes ingram out of the game while he was cooking lol smh....

we have to play gentry ball to beat the jazz tonight but the team will go back to the half court set and make it hard tonight....

Like we just don’t swing the ball or anything. Our movement has to be better. Our guards have to be better.

    Ay Lonzo hit a 3

  11. #86
Right, okay so I know Lonzo hit a 3, that doesn't mean he should be our leading shot taker.

    Which he is. Somehow.

    Just too good.

The fact that Zion has taken 8 FGAs when Bledsoe and Lonzo have each taken 11 tells you sad things.

    sigh.

Our weekly coach technical... That doesn't change anything.

Zion got to speak up. I think that's the only thing that ll work.

It’s all nice and sweet to hear that we should attack the rim AD, but they are sitting in the paint. We SHOULD be looking to move the ball and stop being so predictable. We just aren’t doing anything to make the Jazz’ life difficult.

  18. #93
I'll be glad if we never play the Jazz till they change their name and give us back our name.

    Where Darren Collison?

I know he retired for religious purposes. Maybe he's ready to return.

  20. #95
Welp, another game where our guards lose us the game. Can't generate offense, make shots, or defend the 3pt barage.

  21. #96
I feel bad for BI and Zion this season. They shouldn’t have to carry these chuckleheads.

  22. #97
Ingram's cooled off (naturally, rare for anyone to stay that hot all game), the guards have been pretty mediocre-to-poor all game, and Zion's getting nothing run for him.

No wonder the offense is so stagnant. 11 points in 8 minutes. Yuck.

I swear... Nothing ever happens when coach Ts up over calls. Refs just double down on it.

Time for bed. Typical Pelican game. Play well till mid 3rd and then get blown out.

    Recurring TO problems from SVG.

Refs calling BS fouls on Pels guys.

Again, very little run for Zion through the whole quarter.

    Hooray.
