Pelicans January 6th - New Orleans Pelicans VS Oklahoma City Thunder - 4-3

Hoping for a come-back from a pretty shameful loss last game, the 4-3 Pelicans take on the 2-4 Thunder, at home.

Not too much to say really; we've already played the Thunder once this year and it was a pretty definitive victory; we won by 33 points, and didn't trail for even 30 seconds after the first minute of the second quarter. Hopefully we can see a repeat performance of that kind of victory. In fact, last game VS OKC Zion only played a grand total of 14 minutes due to foul concerns, so if he can avoid that maybe we can see an even more definitive victory. Not necessarily in terms of the final score, but the style of play.

Oklahoma is in a funny position where they have a bunch of young talent and some of them are even starting to put it together (SGA) but they're far from cohesive as unit and there are clear holes in their roster. We're in a similar position, actually, in some ways, but our talent is generally a little bit older and we have some more useful veteran presence in the form of Adams [who they lost and didn't really replace] and Bledsoe coming back to reality. If Redick can finally bounce back, we'll really be cooking.

Let's just hope for another win and get up to 5-3 heading into our final home game before the Torture Chamber of a road run.

    Historically bad?

I take it you haven't been a Pels fan long

Trust the process. Stan got it all under control.

Ready to see Kira logging some quality time. We need to see if he can perform under pressure better than our other guards. Lord knows LB, EB, and JJ choked massively in the final minute on Monday!! Some say you could hear them retching on the Northshore.

About an 8000-2 record When teams are ahead by 6 with 25 seconds to go. It’s nothing to do with Pellies past failures. It is an objectively horrid stat against us the other night

Yes, we get it. But we don't need to lie to ourselves and pretend Stan didn't ******** that game away.

13 - 3 wants to blame anyone but the Pels for the Pacers loss

He belongs to the group of the worst type of one eyed fans

Unlike the high school team you once played on, where the coach orchestrates the action, this is the NBA...a players league. To ignore the guard play, in general (you insert the name), in the final minute of play is fool's folly (no offense intended). I'm not exonerating SVG from any blame as he certainly played his role, but, sure enough, there was plenty to go around. The truth is: Poised for a victory as we were, we (as in everybody) choked.

League is unpredictable. Especially last night. This game could be a dog fight or a blowout for OKC if they are not prepared.

Team, please, in the final minutes of this game please heed these words of wisdom from Dwight Schrute:

We better win this game after that heart breaking loss to the Pacers. OKC shouldn’t be able to beat us, but this league is insane. Hopefully we used that game as a learning experience from coach to players. The last two games have been good all the way around. Hopefully JJ can get going cause if he hits half his 3s we win these games easily

Yeah, the players fumbled the bag too, no argument there.

Zion with the Moses Malone rebound for the first bucket

  18. #18
Lonzo instantly zips a pass into an OKC guard's hands

Bledsoe with the YMCA jogging close out

Defense has been incredibly complacent early here

  21. #21
They tried to guard Zion 1v1 with Bazley lol

  22. #22
Zion with the post up, little spin move, baby hook shot.

If they're trying to guard Zion with Bazley in single coverage, just keep doing this.

  23. #23
Zion has 6 on Bazley in the last minute or so

This game won't teach us anything we didn't already know

All it does is bring OKC one loss closer to Cade

That's what I'm talking about, Zion dominating in the paint. Finally the rest of the team are passing the ball to him, every time.
