    Will Weaver (Possible Coaching Candidate)

Nola.com seems to be in a better place covering the Pelicans. They have been highlighting some dark horse candidates for the coaching job.

They did a piece on Will Weaver. He was with Sam Hinkie and Brett Brown in Philadelphia, then was Trajan Langdon's head coach while Langdon was GM in the G-League. They made it to the championship game and Weaver was named G-League coach of the year.

Last year he coached Didi in Australia as the Sydney Kings head coach. I believe they made it to the NBL Finals before stopping the series due to covid? He seems to be already integrated with the Pelicans.

He did an hour on the Basketball Immersion podcast. I haven't had a chance to listen to it all. But interesting prospect. Would be a Nick Nurse type hire.

He's more recently associated with the Nets and Kenny Atkinson (everybody's wishful prom date around here).

By all accounts this guy is a rising star in the coaching ranks. I hope he throws his hat in the ring but he is only just getting started with the Sydney kings and turned that program around very quickly.
