OK, Here Is What We've Heard From the State Department

Our contacts in Africa gave us a brief today. This is more opinion, than definitive policy:

Yes, this is a serious event but more to do with the unknown more than facts. We were reminded that there were predictions of 1,000,000 Americans getting infected by Ebola and never even came close.

This was a ten week event in China. MIGHT be a 2-3 month deal in the west because we won't restrict every movement like in China.

Numbers in China appear to be dropping but it's a totalitarian state. Sometimes people forget that. It's easy to shut down whole cities and fudge numbers too. But from what they have gathered the number of cases seems to be leveling off. The overall death rate is still high but it might be lower because they figure 80% of the people who catch it might never know it.

Numbers in Africa will never be known because frankly, disease is the norm in most parts. If cholera doesn't get you, Ebola will. TB is rampant. They just advise us to reconsider travel there, stay safe and wash your hands.

What does this have to do with the Pels? I don't know. Maybe calm some nerves about this. The fear of the unknown is what drives people to buy all of the toilet paper.
