Zion is all up in his own head. Fully expected. But disappointing altogether.
Why cant Zion hold onto the ball?
Another classic Gentry spotlight blunder.
Hard to build a homecourt when you perform like this in every big moment.
This is just collapsing.
Zion passes to wide open Lonzo. Lonzo refuses to shoot, takes one dribble in, passes it back to Zion. Zion hits contact, fumbles it; turnover. Then nobody runs back on defense.
That was 1 good decision (the pass out) followed by 4 consecutive mistakes.
Jesus.

Hindsight being 20/20 and all, the Spurs were a tough matchup for this game. They're so experienced and disciplined. They matchup so well against us as we matchup well against the Nuggets. They are the best team to handle this type of atmosphere and the worst team you want to try out new things against.
The refs ignoring that Aldridge pushoff doesn't help, either.

The funniest thing is that aside from the turnovers and stupid minutes, Zion's been pretty good actually.
5 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 50% shooting. I've counted 3 potential assists as well where the pass got good shots but they just didn't fall. On a normal night where we're not shooting 31% from 3, at least one of those would have dropped.
He might well finish with something like 7 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists on 60% shooting. Which would be fine for 15 minutes.
Play Zion the 8 straight minutes!
