    R.I.P he pretty much helped bring the NBA to the global stage etc. and made it what it is today. And like above, we probably wouldn’t have a team in New Orleans...May he Rest In Peace.

    He pretty much saved the Pelicans...Shinn was using the franchise as his own personal ATM machine. He also became Commissioner when the NBA Finals were played on CBS...taped delayed AFTER the 10pm news!!!! Finals weren't even live. Hard to imagine that now.

    R.I.P Mr Stern...damn did they choose to pull the plug on New Years Day ? Because this has been going on for weeks.

    He made the NBA what it is now. He knew there were people who had a problem with the new diversity in the early 80s, and he adjusted. And he wanted a team in New Orleans.
