    Pelicans 13th December - New Orleans Pelicans @ Philadelphia 76ers - 6-19

What else can I say but yikes?

Tonight we take on the Sixers. There's been a lot of talk about the Sixers disappointing some people, based on what the pre-season projections were, and that's fair enough in some regards. That said, they're still 19-7, ranked 3rd in the East, and have gone 8-1 over their last 9 games.

The Sixers are 9th in rebounds, 3rd in assists, 3rd in steals, 7th in blocks, 3rd in FG%, 1st in DRBD%, and 6th in eFG%. They're a good basketball team. 12th in offense, 4th in defense.

Their weaknesses are fairly simple: they're pretty turnover prone (4th worst in the NBA) and they foul a lot (10th worst), but that's about it. Their offense can get pretty stagnant because they insist on going with the Embiid post-up more than they perhaps should, particularly because of Embiid's difficulties stretching the floor (31.5% from 3 this year) and playing in a slower half-court setting really hamstrings Ben Simmons, who is at his best running and reading in transition. That said, Embiid is still very good, and so is Ben, so while that's a criticism to be sure, it's not a fatal one.

I don't really know what to recommend this team do. Any suggestion just seems like it's throwing sand into the ocean; this team cannot execute anything. It's painful to watch. We had an election in the UK yesterday and my preferred political party got annihilated in a defeat that will likely see the end of our nationalised healthcare service, and it was still slightly less painful than watching the Pelicans attempt to play defense.

    Just play basketball, I guess.
    Basketball.

A really small team playing against one of the biggest team in the league...

Atleast this will be game that we will try to crowd the paint and defend. 76ers probably struggle for the 3 point line. We may or may not get hot. 10 point lose, me thinks.

A tough crowd too. You know J.J. will get some chants tonight from that Sixer crowd.

Another reason to fire Alvin. Poor JJ has to deal with this.

It's favorable that we see Derrick, tonight.

As in he's playing. Hi, hungry. I'm dad.

But I really do think Favors returning will boost this defense. Not tonight. He'll need to get back into things. But even the guard play will improve as they have to crash into the paint less to help out.

Well Favors said he is playing. Pelicans have him as questionable. Gentry said he'd play against the Bucks.

Teams is one big drama suspense movie.

"Jrue Holiday, JJ Redick, Kenrich Williams, Brandon Ingram and Derrick Favors will start against the 76ers on Friday.

Favors is back after four weeks, and he is expected to play 15-17 minutes. He will likely play either 3-4 stints at 4-5 minutes each, and he gets a really tough matchup against Joel Embiid. He was going off before missing time and even put up his first ever 20-20 last month, so he should be added."

The best way to find out if someone is playing or not is one of the sites that are fantasy oriented. I like rotoworld but there are tons of them and they are updated constantly.

As good as Ingram is offensively, he is garbage as a defender. My god.

Oh my god that is not a foul on NAW lmao.

Ennis should be revoked of his points for that flop.

Crazy how Gentry refuses to put two bigs on the floor at the same time.

Jah literally has zero redeeming qualities. He sucks at everything. Might as well play with 4 people out there.

On pace for only 26 threes, and they're not being blown out.

    Funny how that works.
