Some real close matches to start off the year, but we've just missed out on closing out the wins. That's fine, of course: maybe we'd prefer to be winning, but we understand that without Zion, with Jrue being in his early-season funk, with all the roster turnover, with Favors still getting over his hamstring strain, etc etc, we're going to have a slow start. We all understand that.

That said, this game might be a chance to take on the first win of the year. Feels weird saying that about Golden State, but it's true.

So far, the Warriors are 0-2, having lost both games by 19 or more points; they have not looked good.

While obviously it's still early in the season and team statistics are far from where they will be by the end of the year, so far the Warriors have the 23rd best offense in the NBA, and the single worst defense: they are giving up 130.5 points per night through their first two games, and by the looks of their current roster I don't see that changing any time soon.

Tonight they are missing: Alen Smailagic, Klay Thompson, Willie Cauley-Stein, Alec Burks, and Kevon Looney. As a result of that, their available roster is as follows:

Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Omari Spellman, Jacob Evans, Jordan Poole, Eric Paschall, Glen Robinson III, and Marquese Chriss.

Yep, that's it. Looks like a 2015 Pelicans roster or something. Yuck.

They are currently 30th in the league in FG%, 29th in 3pt %age, 28th in assists, 29th in rebounds, 18th in steals, 30th in blocks, and 27th in points per game. They have 1 player averaging over 15 points per game, and that's Curry.

Obviously this is only 2 games in: that sample size is super super super small, and the likelihood that they will remain THIS bad is pretty low. But the fact remains that through 2 games, the Golden State Warriors have been the worst team in the NBA. Hopefully we can make their season even worse tonight by handing them their 3rd L and picking up our first W here are home in the Smoothie King Centre.
