    G league vs international leagues

Just curious how the level of competition compares between them. I understand the different international leagues vary, so how does the G-league matchup with them.

I will be driving through Erie monday and thats what got me thinking about that.

Euroleague is better than the G League, especially at the top levels. The G League often contains players who have the athletic ability of a bench-level NBA guy, but with none of the same skill or IQ. Obviously there are exceptions but that's generally the case. Meanwhile, the Euroleague is the opposite: has a bunch of guys who are super fundamentally sound, very skilled, very well coached, etc, but who have sub-par athleticism at an NBA level. So basically the question is, who do you want playing for you: a guy with a 40 inch vertical who doesn't know how to play basketball, or a dude who can't jump over a credit card but who can run the PnR like a wizard?

That's a bit of an exaggeration, sure, not everyone in the Euroleague is a genius and there are always NBA level guys in the G League just looking for their look in. But overall, I'd say that the Euroleague is the second best league on the planet, and that means the G League falls behind.

It's probably better than the CBA though.

It's a logistical deal too. Maybe stash a player in Erie, knowing that he might be needed during the season. Easier for him to show up at the SKC from Erie than say Istanbul.
