Remember, Russell is still on his rookie extension. Low low contract. Part of why young, cheap assets are so important.

No. The 9m is his qualifying offer. Meaning the Nets have to agree to pay him *at least* that much if they want to make him a restricted free agent with the ability to match any other team's offer.

Whenever he signs a contract for whatever amount that's how much he will be making.
