You're right, but I'm pretty sure the intention is to have a ring or two to go along with that at the same time.
So I think AD is probably okay with the idea of being left alone in 5 years, as long as he has two rings and a Finals MVP to go along with it. And if LA is winning again, the free agents will be more likely to head over to join him.
