In the 2011-2012 season the Timberwolves finished with a 26-40 record. As many recall we owned the Timberwolves first round draft pick that season. Had Love missed this shot and subsequently loss in overtime, the Timberwolves would've finished the season 25-41. Tying them with the Pistons in which the Wolves held the tie breaker, beating Pistons twice that season. Missing that shot would have netted us the 9th pick in the draft as opposed to the 10th pick.
In conclusion, this shot was the difference between us drafting Andre Drummond or Austin Rivers.
