AD leaving has never been pessimistic. It has always been the most realistic outcome.

That final game against GS last year. Seemed like he had no interest in the game or being with team. Perhaps he knew Rondo&Cousins were not coming back/resigning.

From the fact that he might have to go see a specialist in a few days my guess is they are using "sprained finger" as generic term and that his injury is more extensive than what we would normally call a sprained finger.

Maybe ligament damage that they are hoping won't require surgery but won't know for sure until a few more days pass?

A lot of comments are coming from Rich Paul lately. If I wanted to take a wild guess, I’d say AD decides where he wants to be in the next 10 days and let’s that be known through Paul to management. The finger injury will be as severe as it needs to be.

Hopefully it is not another Eric Gordon situation.

This has Loeonard's quad injury written all over it but we will know a lot more in the next few days..

I don't see this at all. AD likes his team. There's no beef like with Leonard and SA. If AD isn't playing its because he's hurt.

Man I hope so. I just don't like the look when Paul is tweeting about AD seeing his own specialist.

He didn't say he was seeing "his own" specialist. He said he might have to see A specialist. This is very common in sports.

If you’re “the Brow” and the team struggles over the next 10 days, what incentive do you have NOT to request a trade before the deadline if you’ve already made up your mind you’re not signing the extension? You’d literally be putting mileage on your body for no reason to close out the season. At that point you might as well ask for the trade now, and if the Pels decline I would assume your hand specialist likely recommends surgery. IMO, this sort of scenario is exactly why Davis switched to Klutch.

for the most part, I think it limits your markets available. That would be the biggest issue with forcing a trade this season. I also think it would rush other teams a bit, potentially biting you back due to teams having to give up too much too soon. It also has the potential to make your agents job harder in finding endorsements for you (which is whats been stated as AD changing agents for). if you aren't out there playing, and it adds to the perception you are made of glass, potential for organisations to not find you appealing. Who is going to buy the shoe of a dude who can't stay on the court?

Nobody's buying Air Brow shoes regardless! That aint happenin!

I think Lakers and 76ers can make whatever their best offers are right now. Those aren't going to improve in the offseason. The only thing you're waiting for is whoever wins the Zion sweepstakes and the Celtics to jump into the fray. If you're AD, you probably have zero interest in whoever wins the #1 pick unless it's the Knicks.

I'm only evaluating this from AD's perspective. Not saying the Pels front office shouldn't wait. But Lakers and 76ers would also have pressure/incentive to make their best offers and overpay now before others can jump into the bidding. Plus they'd have an extra half season of AD which would elevate their playoff possibilities this year.

haha I agree about the shoes, but these guys have a different level of self belief and confidence. I think the other thing as AD, what moves happen this deadline AND off-season. The likes of Kyrie, KD, and Kawhi could all move around (and a lot of others I am sure, just off the top of my head the bigger names). Maybe you would be better served letting them have their FA and then plan for that with your move.

Who do you see starting instead of AD now? Mirotic at PF, Randle at C? Jahlil moving into the starting five? That's be horrible with Randle at PF...Diallo?

This isn’t the only finger this organization is gonna get from AD this year if something doesn’t change within this roster and organization.

Jah is moving into the starting lineup for the memphis game. I could also see Solo getting a few minutes at the 4 as Gentry tries to find enough fingers to plug all the holes in the next few games.

I’m conflicted here. Not really reading much into the injury itself, but I’m wondering what the best course of action is. Unless we make a big trade soon, I don’t think we have enough to be a serious contender. What that means is we will be in a situation where we will be forced to tie AD down (not even guaranteed to stay), and will be strapped by the cap with an uncompetitive roster. It just makes so much sense to trade him before it gets to that point.

I wonder whether it’s best to keep AD for the remainder of the year or make the deal now. When I think about it, we may win more games if we make an AD trade now. It’s not because of AD’s quality, but rather 3 good players coming in may make the difference. Maybe we should wait till the offseason.

The only team I am trading AD to is Boston which cannot be done until the summer. I want no less than Tatum, Brown, Rozier, and the highest 1st round pick available in 2020.

AD is well worth that to Boston. I dare you to present me a better deal than that.
