Ever since the Pelicans arrived as the Hornets in 2002, I've been waiting for the team to play at least 5 consecutive 82 game regular seasons in New Orleans without any interruptions (ie. Hurricanes, lockouts, etc.) to match the former New Orleans Jazz. As everyone knows, the first interruption was Hurricane Katrina during their 4th season so the Hornets weren't fully back until the 2007-08 season. After that, they played four full 82 game regular seasons before the NBA lockout in 2011 shortened the 2011-12 season to 66 games. So counting the 2012-13 season as the Hornets, the Pels now have played 6 consecutive, full and uninterrupted 82 game regular seasons in New Orleans and almost under one owner Tom Benson. We can now officially forget about that team in Salt Lake City with the geographically nonsensical name.
