He's certainly not the greatest basketball player but you'd have to be doing some serious drugs to pick Stiemsma over him if given the option.

Asik's requested a trade. Ryno for Asik... make it happen.

I think we would be a significantly better team with Asik.

FFS......CAN YOU STOP WITH THIS TRADE ASIK FOR ANDERSON TALK????

    Read the article: http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterocket...-to-trade-him/

Asik has no offensive game and his defensive abilities are limited to the paint.
Like the articale suggests when the Rockets play teams who have jump shooters he is useless.

Pairing him with Davis at the expense of Anderson would be a bad idea and we would potentially face the same issues.

I think that trade, partly, would be cutting off our nose to spite our face.

We'd be losing something we desperately need (3pt shooting) for something we also desperately need, and we'd be helping a division opponent to boot. If he's requesting a trade and they won't play him, then perhaps they could settle for less. And don't fool yourselves, giving up Anderson means a hell of a lot more to us than losing Asik means to them.

And no, I don't think Morrow can do what Anderson does. We'd be sacrificing a player that has proven that he plays great next to a traditional defensive big for...a traditional defensive big.

As many layups as we give up, it's not a terrible consideration on the surface.

I think Asik would be great here. He can defend, rebound, box out, etc. He'd probably make AD's basketball life much easier. But I don't think it's worth trading Anderson for. To reap the real benefits of Asik, we'd have to figure out a way to keep Anderson too. Just my opinion.

He is good, but I don't think he would make the impact everyone is hoping for. He certainly is NOT worth losing Ryno for.

That's what I'm saying. I like Asik but not for Anderson

The Rockets don't need Jrue, Gordon or Tyreke. Ryan Anderson would be the only realistic option.

    I'd pass however.

Morrow with a bunch added on (don't know enough about it to say if we could give cash considerations or take on a bad contract) could possibly do it, if they just want another 3pt specialist.

Lol absolutely not. There's a reason he is jobless right now.

It is funny though watching the Rockets self-sabotage themselves by killing Asik's trade value.

Don't believe me? Go find me examples of good, proven coaches who went to a non-contending, small market team after the season already started.

    Not an option.
We do have time to get Karl if a move happened in the next week. My biggest issue with Monty's O is we never seem to get easy shots. Everything is a jump shot. Drives me crazy.

So, you think the old man didn't want to pay Drew Brees either? You think he wants to let arguably the best TE in the league walk over a contract dispute? The Graham contract will get done with Benson's blessing when Loomis decides its fair for the Saints, but it WILL get done.

Seriously? You mean to tell me right now that if Stiemsma and Fab Melo were the only 2 options in the world, you'd actually take Stiemsma? WHY???

Interesting comments by X Henry in the first 20 seconds of this interview.
Really don't think he liked Monty.

Man I much rather SVG over George Karl he's a great coach and can play to this team strengths and also preaches defense.

    Bump

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"
