The New Orleans Saints moved to an impressive 4-1 on the season after just barely getting by Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers by a score of 30-27.<\/p>\n
First off, Newton is impressive. The Panthers have certainly made life easier for him by instituting a bunch of plays from his days in college, but give the guy credit– He’s a player already.<\/p>\n
After being down through three quarters of play, the Panthers took a late lead on a Greg Olsen touchdown. Fortunately Drew Brees and the Saints offense did their usual thing, easily storming down the field on an 89-yard drive to score the winning touchdown.<\/p>\n
The Panthers again kept the game close the entire way (as has been the story of their season), but if you give Brees a chance to beat you late, it’s often you’re going to regret it. This game wasn’t any exception.<\/p>\n
MVP of the game is Jimmy Graham, who once again stood out as Drew’s favorite target He had a game high 8 catches for 129 yards, while Darren Sproles rumbled for 91 yards rushing and receiving.<\/p>\n
On defense, Patrick Robinson recorded an interception to start off the game and later blocked a PAT. He nearly blocked another PAT later in the game, missing by just inches.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
