December 9th - New Orleans Pelicans @ Detroit Pistons - 13-14

Okay, sorry for the late game thread and no analysis here. Been sick all day, forgot when the game was (8:30pm here is ridiculously early for a game) and have been watchjng the Snooker.

We usually beat Detroit, having won 9 of the last 10, and AD usually dominates. Hopefully we can pick up a much needed road win here.

Edit: Okay fine, couldn't help myself, little bit of analysis:

Pistons have an offensive rating of 107.4, which is 26th in the league. Their defense is 9th in the league, but can easily be exploited: their best defenders are Drummond (who AD has always been able to score on with ease), and Stanley Johnson, who Jrue is much better than on offense. They are a fantastic offensive rebounding team (8th) but not great on defense (28th) and a large amount of that comes from Griffin being a pretty mediocre rebounder for a forward with such a motor. If we can keep them off the offensive glass and play our own game on our side, the rebounds should actaully work out very well for us despite Drummond being the league's leading rebounder.

They're 29th in 3pt percentage, so hopefully our dreadful perimeter defense doesn't get annihilated too badly tonight, and if we can defend the paint with any sort of proficiency, this should be a win without too much problem.

Up 15-9 early, the defense has been hit or miss, but the offense has looked very good. Lots of activity and movement off ball.

AD just got kneed pretty hard in the kidney. Obviously hurt him, it was from Griffin too so a big body.

Jrue has 13 in the first quarter, he's 3 of 4 from deep.

Zaza Pachulia is still allowed to play in the NBA?

Might as well loose a fox in the henhouse.

I'll comment so you're not the only one. Jrue is on fire. But defence still looking a little off. I'm loving the ball movement on offense tho.

Jrue has 18 points on 70% from the field and 80% from 3 and we're up 8 right now.

Yeah he did, but in this case I don't think it's AD being soft. He took a really hard knee from Griffin to the hip/liver area. If a boxer got hit there with that force, you'd be surprised if they didn't go down, and they train to get hit.

Glad to see AD back in the game. Hes had 2 blocks and 3 rebounds in about three minutes, hope to see him get back to scoring as well.

AD has 4 rebounds and 4 blocks in the quarter but has only taken one field goal, and missed it. Need to see him gettin more shots. Want at least ten more from now to the end of the game.

Cheap call by these refs....Blake bumped into him...SMH

AD with one of his worst offenskve games of the season. Willing to forgive it because he moved the ball well and defended the rim, and the foul he took early was very, very hard. Hopefully he's back to normal next game
