Trends Among The Greatest Undrafted NBA Players

I went through the last 30+ years of drafts and assessed why good players went undrafted. I mapped those trends on to this year's draft to see who might fit the model and get overlooked, despite potential value. Here are the best undrafted players in recent past at each position. In parentheses it shows why they were not picked. Below that are the players in this years class who have similar attributes. Let me know what you think and if I missed anybody. In summary the overall assessment when targeting undrafted players is to value skill over athleticism or size. Almost every player on the list was highly skilled but were small for their position or lacked athletic traits. Very few were uber athletes that needed to develop skills I.e, skill > athletic upside when it comes to undrafted players.
