Good shooter, perfect for what we need now.
Good signing. He was my favorite player of the guards who were trying out. Go check out his stats. He is a solid 3 point shooter.
I didn't know anything about him but I see he is 6'8 so that's a plus
Just a body for 10 days DELLS WORKING! Good shooter
He can replace the main skill of the two players we traded away, and probably defend decently. Good addition. Now for this T-Jones trade...
I had a feeling it was going to be between Quinn and him. I like Thompson for what we need. He's a guy who has a lot of NBA experience and is a good outside shooter.
Is he some, omg this is great, player? No, but we have very specific needs for more wing help and Thompson can fill that SG/SF backup.
Basically, I've felt since the trade that Thompson would be a smart pickup. And seeing the Pels grab him makes total sense.
I see that Minny will not re-sign Lance until he is healthy.
I'm tipping we will get another guard once Jones or Ajinca is traded and Lance will be brought in for Thompson.
If Dell is working on a bigger move and Hollis is just a body fo 10days, I would like either Hezonja or Tyler Johnson.
Lance is a perfect fit for this team right now VERSATILITY (pg/sg/sf), DEFENCE (fierce competitor) & SWAGGER (we need)
Best when he rebounds & pushes de pace & attacks the rim See Ya Soon!
Very good long-range shooter, who doesn't do much else. Then again you can't expect to get rotation player on a 10-day contract. Thompson addresses specific need, and that will do for now.
Lance is expected to be out for a month, and who knows, how hobbled he'll look coming off of ankle injury.
Hollis wow. The biggest pickup in a while.
But for real, hit open threes off of Boogie and Brow doubles and we will love him.
You guys are slacking.

Anyone know if he can defend?
I love this signing. Has the versatility to play SG and SF providing us with great depth. Thompson and Casspi can be 2 solid pieces as good as the guys we let go. I still think we make another trade but either way I would like to keep Hollis around as an end of the bench guy going forward.
It's really not that great of a signing. Just trying to add bodies at this point.
@MikePellissier shoots. improved his handle and driving ability this past year. decent on ball defender, gets lost off ball. high character.

Marcus Thorton was waived. We can basically get Hield back signing him as well.
I think he's just what we need right now. Good size and career 39% from 3.
good pickup, but time will tell for sure...

The #Pelicans have signed guard/forward Hollis Thompson to a second 10-day contract

Did we sign Jack and Williams after Thompson?
Good decision. He is solid.
Niice, now it'll be interesting who we sign in Jack's place and if they sign Reggie to a second 10-day.
Alvin Gentry said Pelicans have been "pleasantly surprised" with Hollis Thompson's defense so far. Thought he deserved a second 10-day.

Not only does he defend, Thompson also looks to cut and even has some straight line drives in him. When his shot/confidence returns, Hollis would be a good rotation piece. I would try to lock him for 3-4 years at the minimum.
i think his confidence is shot because he has to fall back and defer to the big 3......i think gentry need to tell him to be aggressive and shoot more because he has the 3pt range...maybe gentry has told him and he is just not doing it.....he is playing solid ball just not scoring....
Guys second 10 day expires tomorrow, if I'm not mistaken. Do we bring him back for the season? Hasn't shown much but length and eforth but the rest of his career sas he's a solid 3 pt. shooter and this is the anomaly.
If he was hitting 3s at almost 40% like he did in Philly I think there'd be no doubt you bring him back. Which data set are you going to trust? 357/917 (38.9%) over 3.5 years or 6/24 (25%) over 20 days? They say they like his defense and you have to assume his shot will return to form. I think they sign him to a minimum for the rest of the season and then try and get him on a minimum for next year with the lure of what no other team offering the minimum can give, Early Bird Rights at the end of next season.
We need guard depth so I'd probably sign him for rest of season. He and Crawford both.
Wayne Seldon starting over him tonight. Probably not a good sign for Hollis but who knows.
probably EOT
Hollis Thompson, whose second 10-day deal is expiring, will not be picked up by the #Pelicans for remainder of season, league sources say.

up to the next one 10-day
it is not surprise at all
he had 2 DNP-CD recently
Can Casspi be resigned now?
only if now is July 1st at the earliest
Seldon got signed away by the Grizzlies. Now we have two roster spots.
