Now this is something I could get behind...but it would probably cost a ransom to get him.
Who do we give up without trading AD?
I would think NOLA would trade Buddy Hield, 2017 and 2019 Firsts. I'm sure they would want to keep Jrue
They are going to land one quasi AS/AS or two good players and they are gonna use picks to do so. Just a question of who it is. This team ain't drafting. They are gonna get the talent to lure back Jrue, one way or another
If we're gonna trade first rounders it's gotta be for a top 10 talent. Jimmy Butler & Cousins only possible options with elite skill so I'm all for it
I'm all aboard the Boogie train.
Yeah probably Buddy, Jrue and 1 or 2 firsts. If Jrue isn't in it (which I doubt) Reke would be a part of it to make contracts work
If we can get cousins goodbye pudding hield and tyreke!!! I'm all for it
A guy is worth what others are willing to pay. Who is giving up the farm for Boogie if the Celtics don't want him? I think the best offers for Drummond and Boogie would be far lower than you guys think. Now, their teams don't have to trade them, but if all the teams put their best offers out that they were willing to do for those two- the Pels could do as well or better than any of them. Just comes down to whether Sacto or Det wants a clean break
But other teams can outbid us. Don't understand this, but it's Woj...
They've painted themselves into a corner. This is the stage of ADs career is when we should be trading our picks. Right now we should have 3 to 4 more draft picks on this roster that are either starters or bench role players. Had we went the draft and rebuild route, I would be all for trading picks for veterans/quasi all stars. But now if we keep our draft picks, AD and Jrue are gone for sure. If we trade them and don't get to probably the second round or WCF we lose AD in 4 years and start all over.
Could this be a leak to gauge his value with other teams?
The word going around is that many teams are scared to give up assets for Boogie, especially without him signing an extension. It seems he and AD have a good relationship. We may be hoping that relationship entices him to resign. Also. maybe his respect for AD will keep him somewhat in line. Boogie is not a player you want to build your entire franchise around and a player that could possibly ruin chemistry in the locker room for a playoff team. Take into account all the factors and the list of possible destinations for Boogie shrink.
We are in a unique position because we have that franchise player and a solid #3 in place. And we need to swing for the fences
Wow! Now George would be a grand slam!Quote:

Pelicans have made trade inquiries on DeMarcus Cousins and Paul George, per league sources. Talks have progressed further on Cousins.
We also have had discussions with the Pacers for PG13.
I don't see how we have enough to do it, and I'd hate to lose Buddy. But if it can be done, I'd be very interested to see it.
God we need to dump Asik somehow. Dump Asik and keep Tyreke if we could. (Salary matching)
I just don't see what we. Plus offer them to get Boogie without trading Jrue or AD and that better not happen .

Even besides the Celts, would Buddy and picks really be the best offer?
Rip buddy
Dayyym this would be so cool if it happened.
I'm not saying you can get him cheap, but if Sacramento doesn't want to tie themselves to Cousins for the next decade, which they probably would end up doing if they give him the new DPE in a few years, then they need to trade him. But they may not have as many potential trade partners offering up as much as they used to. The 3 teams that have been hoarding assets to trade for a star all now have star level centers, Philly with Embid, Boston with Horford, and Denver with Jokic. Again, I'm not saying he'll be cheap, but had they traded him last year or the year before they probably would have gotten a better deal.
If I was the Celtics no way I would give up the first for him I'd rather give it up for Butler if I was going to give up the first .

It'd be nice for PG, JB, or DC and I'm sure if there is a slight chance to get them we should try but in the end I think it's a pawn to bring down the price on other players.
For Cousins, you clean the cupboards. You ask AD if he thinks he and Cousins can get along fairly well, and if so, give them everything. It'd be the kind of move worth selling the future for, the kind of move that gives you a shot to actually become something, even if it's not likely.
Of course it won't happen lol
The Pelicans have made virtually everyone available, including Buddy Hield, to pair Anthony Davis with a fellow All-Star, sources said.

Sources quickly shot down any Hield and pair of first rounders talk.

Sources: Kings owner Vivek Ranadive's waffling on long-term commitment to Cousins has opened door to trade talks. He's gone back and forth.

Tyreke, Ajincia, Buddy and our 1st round pick might get it done. I would be ecstatic if we could attain Boggie for that, imagine a starting five of Jrue, Davis, Cousins, Galloway, and Solo, thats a pretty good lineup.
I just asked Paul George if we'll be seeing him around NOLA more often. His reply:"We'll see. I hear the stories."

At least this would pump some excitement back into the fan base. I'm not even going to waste my energy on this until something actually happens.
I doubt a trade for a true all-star like Cousins or George happens, but possible trades could look like this:
Kings get...
SG Buddy Hield
SF Solomon Hill
PG Tyreke Evans
C Alexi Ajinca
2017 Pelicans 1st round pick (unprotected)
2019 Pelicans 1st round pick (unprotected)
Pelicans get...
C DeMarcus Cousins
SF Rudy Gay
PG Ty Lawson
SF Omri Casspi
Or even less likely
Pacers get...
SG Buddy Hield
SF Solomon Hill
PG Tyreke Evans
2017 Pelicans 1st round pick (unprotected)
2019 Pelicans 1st round pick (unprotected)
Pelicans get
SF Paul George
PG Aaron Brooks
SF Georges Niang
I don't think we can get George without trading either Holiday or Buddy or both along with that other deal. If we getGeorge to pair with AD and Holiday then that's a potential championship level team.
Sources: The deal that NO discussed for DeMarcus Cousins w Kings was deal around Hield, Evans expiring deal and multiple unprotected picks.

Zero percent chance at George, but we would have the best offer on the table for Boogie. All depends on if Sacto wants to pull the trigger, which I am guessing they won't.
FWIW, @chadfordinsider reported ahead of the 2016 draft that Kings GM Vlade Divac "loves" Buddy Hield. Pels took him two spots before Kings.
— Justin Verrier (@JustinVerrier) February 20, 2017
I may cry.
I think this is just the front office showing everyone that they're "working".
BUT... If there is any truth to the deal that was reported earlier in which the Magic could have gotten Boogie for a package that centered around Fournier and picks, I think the Pelicans could put together at least something that's as compelling as that.
Boogie/AD at least starts to give the team an identity. The ability to resign Jrue. Now all of a sudden you have the makings of a team that could conceivably throw something different at other teams in the West to have to deal with. It's something... definitely something.
AD and Cousins, with a solid pg in Holiday, could do some damage in this league. Z-Bo and Gasol have been a tough matchup for every team, and I imagine that the AD/Cousins combo would be an even more lethal duo than Z-Bo/Gasol.
Anyway we can do this and keep Buddy, Jrue and AD?
Why would SAC do this now when they know that the Pels pick would just go higher?
Just wait until draft night.
