Perhaps so...
Sources: The Pelicans and Motiejunas' representatives had positive talks today and deal could be coming soon.

Word is that Williams was waived...
Championship.
Well, he can swing the ball at least. Not sure what else he's got.
Isn't he still a restricted free agent?
Edit: D-mo is a baller. A lot of Houston fans wanted him back.
Eh. Ok, I guess.
Pretty sure he's not much of a defender. Could he who we get instead of trading for Greg Monroe?
Hm. Looking into his situation, the Rockets screwed this man over. They matched a $37 million offer sheet from Brooklyn, but never signed it. Now he can't even sign with the Nets until next season. and then they straight up cut him loose.
Hope he's got a chip on his shoulder and is fully healthy.
Looks like he's signing one year for the veteran minimum.
F'in right!! Better than Randerson. Hope he's healthy and plays well. Off to look up highlights of him..
Think about this, we will probably get more front-court production out of two minimum contract guys (Jones and Montej) than the two guys with the larger long term contracts (Asik n' Ajinca). If only we could let those four guys switch contracts..
Probably better than Ajinca. The Rockets/Pels gradual roster swap continues.
Motiejunas has the potential to be very very good and even a long term starter at center. The problem with him has been back injuries. If he is healthy enough to play, what an unbelievable steal at this point.
Good value
This is good. No more fumbling bigs around the rim. He can stretch the floor and also post-up . This will make AD happy in several different ways. He doesn't have to guard centers all the time and won't face as many double teams........Great signing IMO. Plus they get to stick it the Rockets.......Youtube his highlights...I think he can be very good for us.
He can really pass the ball
Good signing. I'm hoping this signals the end of the Asik era in NOLA.
He has health issues?
Don't know. But, Motiejunas is about to put his health in the hands of the #Pelicans medical staff so he probably won't stay healthy long. https://t.co/cS6dOV6j5x

Hope he can stay healthy,
Donatas Motiejunas at the minimum is low risk. That he'll play ahead of two guys making a combined ~$15M this season though...

Jrue/Gallo
Buddy/Moore
Hill/Tyreke/Qpon?
Cunningham/Jones/Diallo
AD/D-Mo
That is legit! Good job Demps?
No wonder he was so cheap. Health issues,

Hopefully it works out for him here.

He has had back issues in the past. But the Nets did pay him $37 million and the Rockets matched. It must be something with the Rockets organization that he doesn't like because he never reported to practice and refused a physical apparently.

Big with a legit post game? I'll take it.
I'm fine with this. A good player for the minimum? Hell yeah!
And if it doesn't work out, who cares?
He's a good big man who can run the floor and provide spacing on offense, hitting a corner 3 and giving AD room to work. The only reason we are able to get him is because of injury concerns otherwise great addition. Motiejunas acquisition + small ball lineups will make it harder for Asik and Ajinca to see the floor, thankfully.
Soooo, if we don't have to trade for a big, what's our move at SF? You know this front office is dying to make a serious play this year, and only 1 game out of the playoffs. Is there a guy worth making a real play for?
this is a good signing....who will the inactive be?......diallo,,,asik,,,ajinca.....if its diallo,,i hope they send him back to the d-league so he can play and better his game.....
i guess someone or two is getting traded next month.......
Other teams wanted him too, so that is good to hear. Also they had so many guards they could use another big.
Edit: wrong thread
Yeah I guess I overreacted after reading Fisher.
Cant see how he will play C.
He is too light and coming off a serious back injury.
He played center at times last season, after the back injury. He pasted his physical with the Nets, so I think his issue is more of the right fit. Pelicans are desperate for someone with his skill set that can play the 4 or 5.

Hopefully he helps with the flow of our offense
Should've just kept Ryan Anderson
