Championship Team for the
This is my Championship Roster and what it takes that gets us to the top. Multiple ways that set us up as a Dynasty for a long time to come. All in which I think are very attainable and possible. My dream roster is a few guys I have been raving about for a long time and seem to becoming more believable now. I will go through who should be the priorities in order and what we could do to make a championship roster.
My first option would be to go all in for BLEDSOE which would be trading a package of Vasquez/Lopez maybe even a 1st or whatever else simple without giving up this years 1st. The trade instantly give the clips a much bigger impact then Bledsoes limited minutes with Cp3. But most importantly is Bledsoe is a Pelican and the perfect fit for him and us. Making Bledsoe our starting PG would give us a competitive player who I think has a drive to be a winner and great. He would be a mini Lebron in the stat category along with a very similar play style. A major plus is he has gotten the best tutelage you could imagine behind CP3 and Chauncey. He has been playing against and getting advice from everyday for 2 years while also being able to start games during his time and play all different kinds of roles in which I think he will thrive in our system being our true point. I think he instantly becomes the best defensive pg in the NBA and will be so versatile by being able to stay any pg and most 2 guards to make switches seamless. With Westbrook, Rose, Cp3, Parker he has all the tools to cover each one with his elite muscle stature and decent height by being strong, fast, quick, and most of all natural defensive instincts to play and stay in front of all of them with minimal help. He would instantly lead the NBA in steals, blocks, and rebounds. He will also be right up there with his assists and points amongst other pgs and if on this squad I believe he would be top 7 assists and top 10 in points. With his explosiveness he has every bit the ability to score like elite pgs offensively. He is showing a nice shot and if he ever gets that part of the game down consistently then watch out. He can be CP# with talents he wishes he had. CP3 said he dreads the day he has to play him but is excited and wants to see him go somewhere good. Davis would get about 7 alleys a game instead of maybe 1. Plus the point of attack on D would give Davis so much more room to be a force in the paint.
This is what it would take to get Bledsoe and why I feel the Clips benefit more than a trade they can get anywhere else plus very affordable. Bledsoe is phased out so much sometimes and only more with plans of keeping Chauncey around that's where I feel the Vasquez/Lopez package would truly turn Clips into a win now team for next season. They would get 2 very good players who have shown promising potential improvement. Vasquez could possibly be a better fit play wise than Bledsoe with Personnel and definitely $ which Bledsoe wont be attainable. At 6'6 he provides a perfect combo guard fit and could really play well with CP3 and Crawford. He would create a similar combo to Parker/Ginobli with Cp3. Lopez gives a true 7' big man who is a solid player on both sides of ball and could strive playing back up minutes to Jordan on a Championship caliber team with a great pg. Would give them a great big man FT shooter whose ft% is almost double of Griffin and Jordan combined haha either way no doubt Lopez and Vasquez is better value than just Bledsoe for the Clips. I really don't see the Clips getting any offers even close talent and flexibility wise for what they can afford. Seems like the perfect match and Cp3 would sign off for the Pelicans landing Bledsoe knowing he will be in a good place to succeed. The Clips with Griffin/Odom Jordan/Lopez front court healthy could be pretty scary. Cp3/Vasquez Crawford/Green/Vasquez Butler/Barnes/Vasquez Griffin/Odom Jordan/Lopez with whoever else they could bring in the will be a dangerous team but wont scare my future Pelicans!
My next move would be drafting OLADIPO. I know he mite not be there but just saying he is who I want over anyone. Not saying Oladipo is Michael Jordan in any way. But if there is anyone I have seen that resembles him the most with his body type and play style it doesn't get any closer. Yes Kobe is the closest winner but body and movement in the air are different. Oladipo is a clone of MJ in movements and body type. He also showed a little clutchness in him by winning a tournament game buzzer beater. He has shown so much improvement during his career and has some incredible shooting %s from all over. He has one of the smoothest and nicest shots i have seen. He looks like one of those shooters who with a little more time just makes everything look so smooth. Can jump out this world and wreaks havoc on D. I actually love the fact that he is a JR. and is more NBA ready by being able to know what hard work is and get all of his bad habits gone while soaking up some great coaching from one of the best Crean and will create less headaches for Monty.
Oladipo and Bledsoe would create the best defensive back court in the NBA I think instantly. Both are so versatile by being extremely quick and strong enough to get switched on D and cover 3 positions without being completely mismatched like most teams. Them 2 alone would change the whole way Monty can call his D and use less help. We would be able to lock down 3 point shooters and become dangerous. Davis can benefit with Bledsoes D and get a lot more blocks with it taking longer for a pg to drive instead of blowing by what we have for easy buckets.
Then we have our 6th man aspect which I think we are set with 2 people and makes our bench even more Dangerous. Rivers/Ryno as our combo 6th men could be the best in 2 years and still be very young. No doubt about Anderson but can Rivers be that guy who i definitely think so. Austin Rivers will thrive as a back up combo guard with a Crawford/Harden role. He has shown very good D and could becomes a Crawford type of scorer off the bench in time with better D. Ryno is of course the other 6th man I just love to be able to have 2 6th man spark plugs off the bench haha. I think Monty could also go "small ball" with Bledsoe, Rivers, Oladipo, Anderson, and Davis as somewhat of a small ball if you say so but to me is a solid size lineup especially when Davis and Rivers fill out. Would be very effective and wreak havoc for other teams defensively and even on the offensive side of the Ball.
My icing on the cake of course is trading Gordon in which I have a few options that I think are very attainable and possible. I love Gordon but think he has rubbed a lot of fans the wrong way and many would be happy to see him go which isn't a good thing to have as someone who is suppose to be a star. I think he wants a change of scenery and we need a change of player who could replace him in the future.
My first is trading with Golden State and acquiring Harrison Barnes and would even do deal straight up. It's possible Thompson but I think Barnes is a great fit here and 1st is maybe attainable to sweeten the deal.
Second is trading for Batum to Portland who has a new GM that didn't give him the deal and could be a great fit for both teams. Maybe another piece like Aminu is needed or future 1st but I would Love Batum! I'm sure Monty would sign off on the deal. Trade is a stretch but still possible.
My 3rd hopeful is getting Phoenix and acquiring their pick. I think they are very interested and would give the 1st up in a heartbeat. They can give him a read carpet back and give him his heart back. I'm starting to think no matter how good or much I like Gordon I think 2 pics in this "weak" draft is what I want. We have potential to land 2 very good or 1 great maybe 2 with those pics. We could get 2 key starters who are Dell Monty guys. Deal would be worth to me taking back whatever else needed to make trade happen. Dream scenario from that trade is getting Porter and Oladipo with both 1st rnd picks.
I think Hornets have a lot of other options through FA and one need is at the SF position. Iggy is someone who could vault this team into contention with right players. I would much rather pursue Jefferson but all has a lot to do with what happens with Gordon and draft plans. Iggy could be awesome here and fill a huge need. A SF I would also love to get would be Wilson Chandler if none of the above are possible in a Gordon trade he would be nice to look at. We either keep Aminu as a future back up or part of a trade. I think SF is a spot that will be addressed and Iggy is a strong candidate.
An addition of Jefferson could be huge this off season and would not count it out. I think we are pretty damn good now with Davis/Anderson as our 2 big men. I love Anderson off the bench and wanna keep it that way but he needs starter minutes and will basically be one. I think Jason Smith is the perfect back up and could even play the Lopez role when he is traded if someone else isn't brought in. Smith is very serviceable next to Davis if needed but someone like Al Jefferson could make us absolutely deadly with our big men. Davis/Ryno Jefferson/Smith is as elite of a line up you can get. I feel the main 3 compliment each other very well and can all play on court together in different lineups and be super effective. Either way whatever we do with our big men I think we are gonna be fine.
A few roster fillers who I have that could be surprisingly very good players and be huge contributors to our bench in the future in part to being a championship team. Roberts is one who I think being a rookie took him time to adjust and will be somebody who can be great for our 2nd unit maybe even 3rd if he doesn't improve. He led his team in Germany to 3 straight Championship wins before joining us. He is a winner and has had good experience and practice to develop a good game that can only get better. Darius Miller is someone i see improving ever year and being one of those guys who is a knock down 3 shooter and every team has to worry. Lance Thomas is also a guy I have seen consistently improve and seems to be pretty versatile. Did one of the best defensive jobs of Carmelo I have seen anyone do and feel he is worthy of staying around just for that matchup haha. All guys could provide key roles for future and have the ability to also.
To me the lineup I have below would instantly give us the best defensive guard Duo while also being very efficient offensively. Roberts was a rookie and could be very good, he has won consecutive championships for a team before coming to us and showed drastic improvement from the beginning of the season. I don't blame him for being a shot clicker on a bad team, basically trying to make a name for himself and get a roster spot. I think he will be more comfortable in the NBA and be a great back pg for a long time plus is cheap. Depending on what we do with SF I'm sure I will be happy I feel we have a lot of options and definitely think one below will be had. I already think with Davis/Ryno/Smith we have 1 of the best big men lineups in the league. Jefferson would just actually hands down make us the best if you ask me. We would have so many options and dangerous lineups. With the lineup below depending on the SF with the Gordon trade and acquiring Oladipo we are the future Dynasty of the NBA and will be competitive year one but 2-3 years be downright scary!
PG: Bledose/Roberts/Rivers SG:Oladipo/Rivers
SF: Barnes?/Porter?/Batum?/Iguodala?/Chandler?/Aminu?/Miller* PF: Davis/Ryno C: Jefferson/Smith
Fell free to let me know which scenario with the SF you would like and who we draft with 1st pick. Do we keep Gordon or trade him for one of the above? Give me your Dream scenario of what you think is possible and would create that championship roster. I think if we could trade Gordon for a pick that landed us Oladipo and Porter along with getting Bledsoe which I think is a lock and going after Jefferson makes us young but in 2-3 years unstoppable. Future is bright, very bright!

Yeah. Because the Pistons are so quiet, we don't hear much about him but he's as good as Paul George right now and they're gonna move him to the 4. The Pistons have an extremely bright future. Their center pieces are Drummond and Monroe and possibly Knight. I enjoy that team when healthy. Monroe is one of my favorite young players because he's such an underrated beast that will be much better in the future when that team is competing for the playoffs, which I don't think will be stretch since they're in the East.
The Pistons are drooling at the future front court of Monroe and Drummond.
