REALISTIC Gordon Trade Value If......

Ok please don't flame me i've been studying since 8am and need to blow off some steam soooooo

Some people might be seeing this as a good or bad season. I for one like what Im seeing because im looking at the positives AND the negatives. u take your positives and build on them and take ur negatives and address them. i like the way AD is playing, i love what Rivers showed before he got hurt, scoring, creating, passing and defense, i love how darius might be a great bench glue guy for us and i love what ryno does. Anyways this is STRICTLY hypothetical. Lets say we do in fact luck out and land mclemore with the 1st or 2nd pick and Eric Gordon comes in next year and is healthy and puts up a respectable average of 20PPG and 4APG while splitting minutes with mclemore at the SG and Rivers at the PG come trade deadline and his injuries problems are fixed. What could we realistically get for him if our long term plans are in fact Rivers at PG McLemore SG and Davis PF?

Some ideas that i've come up with and like i said hypothetical, im not saying teams would do these trades im just saying its a possibility!

If Gordon does in fact become this player his trade value will be very high:

Gordon for Wilson Chandler and McGee - With Rivers being able to drive and create and mclemore being able to score and shoot this would give us a wing who can score and defend along with a big man a lot of people here seem to love with a roster of rivers, mclemore, chandler, davis, mcgee

Gordon for Parsons and Asik - Basically the same as the nuggets trade, gives us a good scoring wing and a big strong big man who is very good at rebounding which would give us rivers, mclemore, parsons, davis, asik

Gordon for Jeff Green and a draft pick - Green was said not to be able to play SF because he cant defend, green is very athletic and looked darn good on lebron, he can shoot and drive, we could take that draft pick and take the BPA and sign al jefferson giving us rivers, mclemore, green, davis, jefferson

Gordon For Cousins - gives us the perfect complientary big to Davis, huge, low post behemoth who can score and rebound w the best of them, sign corey brewer or budinger. rivers, mclemore, brewer/budinger, davis, cousins

im not saying any of these trades will happen, im not saying any of these trades will make us better im just trying to gauge his value, what do yall think? can yall think of any good trade scenarios?

If Gordon comes back stronger and better n finally fully healthy and we get mclemore then yes of course we will trade him IMO. As far as your trades go. No to Jeff green. No to chandler and McGee also. Only reason I say no to last one is McGee. Please keep that cancer away from this young team. Chandler I love tho. Asik and parsons trade might not be a bad one but I don't think Houston does it only cause they have no need for Gordon. Good ideas tho.

ya i agree i love chandler and arent high on mcgee like others but the rockets said they wanted to go after gordon and possibliy play harden at the 3 because of how strong he is and have a 3 guard back court or possibly move harden to the point and gordon to the 2 and trade lin. What do u think about gordon for cousins? i know he is a head case but he is playing for the kings, its hard not to be a head case when u compete and ur team constantly sucks.

If you have to put 'don't flame me' at the beginning of your thread, maybe you shouldn't post it haha. But Gordon's trade value is all over the place right now. Its pretty hard to say for sure what we could honestly get for him.

haha good point but im saying IF he isnt injured and averages 20-4 by the trade deadline what do u think we could get for him.

If he's healthy and playing well, there's a good chance he won't get traded unless we do draft McLemore.

But I imagine we would get picks, expiring contracts, and some young talent. Denver would never trade McGee and Chandler for him, at least not right now. McGee is too productive. He's like a mini Tyson Chandler.

Houston won't do it because they have Harden. They need Asik too and more size and defense.

I don't like Green's contract either.

I think McGee would be good here, a lot better than Lopez and probably play about the same minutes with better defense and rebounding. I don't think Houston or sac-town make the trade. If Gordon comes on strong next year, it'll be hard to get rid of him when that is what we brought him in for. Still 20/4 and not missing games would net you some nice assets.

McGee would be a huge upgrade over Lopez. But he makes alot more too.

but we would be getting rid of gordon's max contract so it cancels out.

And you get rid of Lopez which will save you another 5 million and possibly get someone like Bledsoe in return.

If we draft Mclemore, then I'm up for all of that. If not, we're gonna need a scorer.

If we landed McLemore and Cousins doesn't do too many more bonehead things in SAC until then, I wouldn't mind that trade at all. Ofcourse, if he doesn't do anything else to create problems in SAC idk that they would make that trade straight up. Maybe if we threw in Lopez they would think about it.

Came into thread expecting to see a trade proposal involving Demarcus Cousins...

haha nice, i just cant help it, i doubt the kings are too happy with him and if they lose tyreke evans im sure they would love gordon and could just draft zeller or len to replace cousins

Guy is a beast, could use a change of scenary, and compliemnts davis perfectly, then enxt year we could hopefully land 1 of the 3 stud SF prospects.

I think since they are losing tyreke they would definetly take gordon and lopez for just cousins, it helps them move a player who doesnt wanna be there and fills their needs, plus lopez is on a good contract.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's a beast too. Just don't think it'll happen. They could get someone in the draft to replace Evans pretty easily i think

Unless they grab Noel then Lopez would be a stop gap till Noel is healthy and productive. This all depends on getting McLemore or smart.

Say no to Cousins. Would only acquire him for cheap. Not give up Gordon. He has a terrible attitude.

Hypothetically if Gordon comes back stronger? Based on what?

I dont think Mcgee has started 1 game for them though, and Chandler hasnt been that great either and they have Gallo, I think they would do that deal in a heartbeat but I wouldnt

If Gordon comes back stronger and becomes the player everyone expects him to be, I would still trade him because I don't like his attitude:thmbdown:

I'm fine with all the trades you propose, except the Green + pick one. Boston's pick wouldn't be high enough to justify the trade and I still think Green's contract is horrible (despite the 43 pts he scored against MIA)

Cousins could destroy the team's chemistry completely but that's a gamble I would be willing to make.

If I had to decide between the other two, I would pick Denver for the sole reason that McGee is a personal favorite.

I haven’t watched many SAC games but does Evans play better defence than Vasquez (is he quicker)?
If so, isn’t he an upgrade if we can get him in a sign and trade for about 20-25M over three years?
More than likely someone will over pay for Vasquez when it comes time so sign Evans and trade Vasquez for another future pick.

Well there is a difference between can he or does he, does he, not really, no one is sacramento does, can he? definetly, he is lightning quick and under monty we would be an awesome defender, before this year he could do absolutely everything, drive, pass, rebound, get to the FT line, only thing he couldnt do was hit the 3, this year he is shooting like 35% from 3, he is having a very good bounce back season

Over vasques? Without a doubt its not even close IMO, the thing is though he and austin are basically the same player, very quick, get to the rim, decent 3pointer, but not dependable jumpshot, now i like tyreke and gordon a lot as a combo, idk about tyreke and rivers, now tyreke and mclemore would be great, tyreke drives and kicks out to mclemore.
Basically im saying rivers at tyreke do the same thing. Rather not spend the money on tyreke and put it elsewhere even though he is one of my fave players, now if we could get an awesome deal for rivers then id maybe do it and have a tyreke gordon shabazz back court

u sign tyreke and jefferson to 3 year deals, giving rivers and davis 3 years to develop and learn and after the first 2 years u can either use tyreke and jefferson as trade bait for expiring or let them ride out their contract since i beleive it will take 3 years until we are ready to compete, i think this is a really good idea and a very high possibility of happening.

I'd trade Vasquez on draft night if possible while his stocks are high.

They are both comparable except assists, but Evan's would probably average about the same amount on this team.
Not too mention hes is also 3 years younger.

younger, way more potential, way better on D, tyreke is playing less minutes and is scoring more and rebounding more while shooting better form the field AND from 3, his assists are lower but when ur 2 guard creates for himself and is better w the ball in his hands like gordon is u dont need a 10apg point guard, its kind of like westbrook and durant, they dont get many assists but they win games because u cant double anyone.

Me too but I think Rivers is about 1-2 years away before he starts at either PG or SG.
By then both Gordon and Evans could be gone.

I think Evans serves the same purpose for Rivers as Lopez has/will for Davis until he moves to C.
If he doesn’t pan out at PG and Rivers over takes him in that department then he would be handy at 6 or 7th man off the bench to play either the 1, 2 or 3.

Monty likes players who can play multiple roles and aren’t just one dimensional.

So I would be keen in a sign and trade for Evans which involves Vasquez.
Either that or another pick in this year’s draft or a future draft, Vasquez won’t stay beyond his rookie contract especially as a backup so trade while his stocks are high.
He may get injured in his final year (touch wood he doesn’t) but **** happens.

Budinger/Aminu
Davis/Anderson
Lopez/Smith

Will a Gordon-Granger make sense for both squad?

Gordon goes to where he really wants, Granger comes home to NOLA. I dont really think about the skills comparison, but the fact that Granger has a shorter deal makes me want him more than Gordon

Gordon signed a contract for 4 years and it will be up to the Pelican's on what they do with Gordon.
Unless Gordon officially comes out a says he wants a trade he will be here next year.

The Pelicans can do better than Granger.
The Pels hold the cards.

great thing about tyreke, while he is only 23, he is a league vet... but i dont like budinger as a starter, dont like his defense, im thinking we draft either bazz or porter and put them at the 3.

Indiana would do that in a heart beat and not think about it for a second, granger is old and will continue to get banged up from being old, a possibility to pair gordon, george and hibbert? thats just not fare, all they need to do it trade up and take burke in in 2 years they will be unbeatable, if gordon isnt in a wheel chair. anyway indiana has nothing to lose from it. I wouldnt do it if i were the hornets GM

Agreed, i want more than granger, but theres a flip side, we get out of his contract and get a player to mentor bazz or porter and then expire freeing us up 16 mil in cap... so while i say i wouldnt do it, if they threw in a draft pick i'd do it in a split second.

Close to a second rounder and Granger......no thanks.
