brilliant...
GO BRISTOW GO BRISTOW GO!
:bflip: Burger Flip no more. ;)
Nice Move ... good riddance Mashburn.
That´s good news. Finally it happened. Now wait what will happen to Baron. :hihi: :hihi:
It was official when I posted it. ESPN is too slow....
YEAH!! I know Byron Scott wasn't real big on Glenn Robinson. HE even said something along the lines that he wasn't interested in Robinson at all earlier in the year. But this is a smart business move. This will put us in FA heaven next year. We will be able to sign anybody...Please let it be Ray Allen.
ronnieone, it was official last night, it's just that the sixers just posted the press release. In fact, the sixers haven't even posted a link to the release yet on their site - yes I'm that good. :D
GREAT news!
Now it would be nice to find out whether GRob is in playing condition or not.
But I wonder, why the Sixers made that deal and didn't just let Robinson come off the books in the summer ...
wwwwwwooooooooooooo hhhhhhhhooooooooooooooooo
Good deal, Robinson is not the best defender in the nba, but is still able to score 20 pts a game...
how does phili benefit form this trade?
They don't have to pay GRobb the rest of this year, save 80% of the rest of the money owed Mash and are probably looking at free agents for the 06-07 season and want the cap space then.Quote:

i guess, it just seems weird that they would want this deal.... i wonder if mash reports?? what do you guys think will happen?
yeah u called it spaniard!
Watch Mashburn's punk arse play now. I don't care anyway. He's not that good even when he plays. He's old, slow and a ball hog who plays no D.
The best part about this trade is that in one trade the Hornets got rid of two of the most loathed players in the history of the franchise!!!
Talk about killing to losers with one stone.
As for Big Dog, I personally hope he doesn't even play. I don't want him taking away minutes from Nachbar.
We already have his separated twin, Nailon, anyway.
Mash won't play, it's just a way for the sixers to save 80% of that money.
do you think we should have kept mash? i mean only paying 20% of his contract, does the owner keep it or what? if so, couldnt it have been used to help build the practice facility? or am i just really cracked out right now because im very tired?
I really don't care how much money Shinn spends. That's his problem not mine. You're tired.Quote:

Be sure & post a link when you're breaking news like that. :)Quote:

Plus: we free up a space on the injured list and a space on the active roster. G-Rob can contribute, but more importantly he gives us that green.
He gets a promotion to lifeguard status. :cool:Quote:

There's only 90 minutes left until the trade deadline. I hope we don't do a deal just for the sake of doing a deal. Sounds like we are working GS pretty hard to throw in Dunleavy or something in addition to what they are offering.Quote:

I think there is some kind of deal involving draft picks, but I'm not sure it means we acquire extra picks.Quote:

You didn't ask me, but I'll give you my opinion anyway.Quote:

I honestly feel that Nachbar will probably turn out to be a better NBA player than Dunleavy.
Dunleavy is just too soft.
Just looking at his numbers, however, and he has been coming on lately averaging 18 ppg over his last five. I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on him and see how he does the next 28 games. He might prove me wrong.
Doesn't Mash need to confirm his retirement for the 76ers to save these 80%?Quote:

I doubt Philly even cares if Mash reports.
I would suspect that Philly made sure that Mash would not report. Well, I guess he has to report for the deal to go through, but that doesn't mean he has to play. I seriously doubt we'll see Mash ever play again. And I doubt the deal goes off if there was a chance that Mash could play. Then again...Quote:

Don't forget his comeback in the first year here in N.O., when he played every game and carried the team. He gave us some very special games in that first year, and even a little bit last year. For a while, he was the most popular player and for good reason. He's an odd guy apparently, who never really meshed with this teammates, and who now is injured apparently beyond repair. Frustrating, yeah, and disappointing. But not "loathed" by most of us, at least not by me.Quote:

I don't like the guy, never thought he was a great player and never liked him in college either. I guess I have just never liked him, but his antics the last few years really made me dislike him.
Can't say that I will miss him or his ball hogging.
The ballhogging part, I agree with. But then Baron started being the ball hog........anyway, I just thought "loath" was a bit strong.......Quote:

Robinson may never even see the bench here.Quote:
