Zion has departed the bubble due to an urgent family medical issue.
— Shamit Dua (@FearTheBrown) July 16, 2020
Man I hope everything is okay with his family. pic.twitter.com/PLsXapCmz3
Ditto
Let’s hope everyone in his family is ok. It says family, so I’m going with that. I’m hoping Alvin didn’t decide to run his goofy practices and get Zion hurt. I don’t know why, but I expected something like this. I just hope it’s not Zion who is hurt because they tend to do things like this. Prayers to his family.
Wow. This sucks. Hope this isn’t too serious.
I'd assume they probably knew about this yesterday considering it did not look like Zion participated in 5v5, although he was there. The Pels also had a "scheduled" off day today.
I agree. While I could always be wrong, I'm going to err on the side of believing that it is a real family matter until I hear otherwise.
Hope things turn out okay, that Zions family will be alright, and that he will be able to return to the team shortly and in good health.
Prayers for him and his family man
Hm,
Well that gives him 15 more days before our first game. Assuming he is not working out or practicing before the 30th, I’d say he will need 3-4 practices before playing a game. There is the 4 day mandatory quartile before rejoining the team.
That leaves 7 days to get Zion back into the bubble and practicing.
Hopefully the issue isn’t too serious or doesn’t become worse. This should be enough time for him to get back.
The exact requirements for Zion Williamson's re-entry to the NBA bubble at Disney World -- in terms of how many days he must spend in quarantine -- will be determined "once we learn more about Zion's specific circumstances," according to a league spokesman
— Marc Stein (@TheSteinLine) July 16, 2020
Interesting to note here. I was under the impression that Zion had to get league approval prior to leaving in order to be eligible for the 4 day quarantine return.
Sources: Pelicans' Zion Williamson suffered from leg cramping this week and missed parts of practice before leaving team Thursday to tend to urgent family matter.

Hmmmmm. Shams with the details. Too bad Woj is suspended.
This isn't ''the details'' at all.
With all due respect to Shams, this is a pathetic none story. Zion had slight cramp during a practice, who honestly cares? What next, Lebron James had a headache, front page news? Top of ESPN; Damian Lillard stubs toe?
I'm obviously no Shams, but I'd be ashamed to report something like this as news. Absolute garbage.
Zion Williamson left the NBA bubble today not because of his health but because of a a family emergency. @malika_andrews brought us more earlier today on SC. pic.twitter.com/jwSZKnFGE6

People are so inattentive to things outside of their team’s scope most will just say he’s hurt more seriously or he went home only because of the cramping.
My wife made a good point...it's none of our business. To speculate is a total waste of time. Then she told me to cut the grass.
Good luck on that none of your business stuff. Hopefully he gets back soon and does not go to a bar room, or restaurant , or a very populated area.Yeah see the concern now.

Gentry from media availability on Zion:
''Don't know anything from the standpoint of when he's coming back, and obviously we're just very supportive of him, his family, and their privacy. But as far as the impact on our team, we played 44 games without him, and we have a tough stretch in there but there was a stretch where we won 12 out of 16 without him so obviously he's a great player that we would miss but one thing we've always talked about is next man up, we're a good team, we're a deep team, so we'll have guys who will step in and play and lift their game, but right now we're not concerned about basketball for him, we're concerned about his family.''
Clippers‘ Montrezl Harrell has departed from the Orlando bubble for an emergency family matter, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

Wonder if he had leg cramp?
So we have COVID concerns and now family matters. This NBA bubble is testing players and teams.
He did clarify it . Give him a break

No update in 3 days. This all seems too quiet to me! It’s starting to make me think that he won’t be available. I hope I’m wrong.
I can't imagine Fletcher hasn't made his way out to Kenner and sneak into the Gabriels. Fly a drone overhead or something - not saying I condone that.
It's either something is wrong with his little brother, his mother, his step-father or his girlfriend (yikes!)....or, HE tested positive. Griff and Gayle might be the only two that know which is it.
And somebody smarter than me knows - what is the isolation rule. If he is tested every day while outside the bubble he can come back in a have to sit out 4 days? If not, he sits alone for two weeks? I'm confused.
If he tested positive, why hide it? Just tell us, put him in quarantine for the period and he'd play sometime in August. It's definitely a close relative in a bad way.
This is what the NFL Players want now.

Great news here. Basically squashes any notion he may have an injury
Okay nice, that's good to hear. Look forward to getting him back. Sucks he'll miss scrimmage time, but that's livable.
That's all we need. Less information the more doubt creeps in, even for optimists like myself.
So... no mention on when he might return and we’re 6 days from the restart of the season. There is a mandatory 4 day quartile from what I understand.
I’m beginning to think he is going to miss more games than we’re thinking.
Got to love that "transparency" that Griffin was preaching about when he got hired...
Granted tho... there are a plethora forms of family emergencies... not just Covid.
I understand the fatigue with the constant struggle with the franchise never able to build any momentum, but you really can't be mad. It is what it is. Just another speed bump.
Lou Williams did not practice today with the Clippers. A source tells @latimessports that Williams has left the NBA bubble for excused personal reasons and is expected to return soon.
— Andrew Greif (@AndrewGreif) July 24, 2020
Lou Will now out, for personal matter.
Lou Will, Montrezl, and PatBev all out of the bubble right now for personal reasons. We play the Clippers in 8 days.
HE'S BACK!! ALL HAIL ZANOS!! https://twitter.com/PelicansNBA/stat...973800960?s=20

Zion Williamson returned to the NBA campus in Orlando this evening, the team announced.
— New Orleans Pelicans (@PelicansNBA) July 24, 2020
He was tested daily for COVID-19 while away from the team and produced negative results for all of them. Williamson is required to quarantine immediately, per NBA protocol. pic.twitter.com/5Olbwo1YvV
Yep just confirming, he's back
He bacc
Thank the LORD!!!
It looks like the NBA “bubble” is not so much of a bubble after all. People are leaving left and right. COVID will burst their bubble.
I think most people knew it wasn't going to be a particularly secure bubble in the first place, in terms of people coming and going. At the very least, the staff that work there aren't confined (as far as I know) and come and go daily as anyone going to work would. People have been streaming in and out of the bubble since the moment it was put up and to be honest, I don't think it's possible to have a real isolated bubble on this scale with this little preparation.
