Just got the official word. Not sure how much, if at all, he'll actually play. I'd assume he's expected to play some since they added him to the roster for this game specifically.

This should be fun.
Is the game televised?
ESPN
what time is the game?
8:00 PM central
Congrats to the BROW.....but I was hoping to see him with our young guys. Of course, this is the oppurtunity of a lifetime for him. Guess Blakey Wakey hurt his knee trying to dunk on someone. What a scrub.
good for AD..swat a couple tonight
They are replaying it on NBATV @ 11pm if you miss the ESPN broadcast.
soon the whole WORLD will have to BOW TO THE BROW!!!! MUHAHAHAHAHAH!!!
I'd bet he hurt it while trying a 720*, off the wall, behind the back, from the FT line dunk. Everyone knows you can jump out of the gym dum****, and nobody cares except for Clip fans. Most overrated player in the game in my opinion.

So Davis is starting tonight according to USA Today.Quote:
Davis remained in Las Vegas as a member of the U.S. select team (although he traveled to Los Angeles for the ESPYs on Wednesday) that scrimmaged against the Olympic team, although limited to being a spectator as his ankle healed. But he has made enough progress that he was expected to start Thursday night in the exhibition game against the Dominican Republic.
This is awesome :hihi:
Had I told you guys a few months ago that come July we'd see OUR Davis starting any USA Olympic game I probably would have been banned :hihi:
That has to be a misprint. He hasn't practiced with the team at all except in 5 on 0 drills if I remember correctly.
I imagine that's supposed to say that he's expected to suit up.
AD ain't playing they just said it on ESPN. Ankle
This may actually be worse for his development. I think he'd get more experience out of playing in the summer league than playing with team USA.
Someone please, where can I watch the game?
ESPN.
Very. He's probably not going to get nearly as many mins playing on an glorified all star team as he would with our summer league team. There's really not a ton of bigs on the team(which is why he was called back in the 1st place) to battle with in practice. It'll be a great experience from him as a person, not so sure it'll be better for him as a basketball player.
Wasn't he practicing for us?
I think you just enjoy playing contrarian at this point.
You don't think practicing against and playing with - even in limited minutes - the greatest players in the game today isnt more beneficial then playing a couple summer league games(most likely isn't going to play all of them and full minutes) with the likes of Daryl Watkins, Mac Koshwal, Matthew amaning and Brian Roberts?
Come on
This should make for a good learning experience. Also he should get some pt tonight if healthy simply because the u.s should blow these guys out.
Not to mention the things he can learn from simply being around professionals (Kobe, Deron, KD35, TC, etc) who have established NBA careers. Everyone talks about a veteran presence on this team as we grow, you can't get a better set of leaders than those compiled on Team USA. Say what you want about CP3, LBJ, and Melo, but being around the top talents in your profession is NEVER a bad thing. Also I'm sure he'll glean a few things from Coach K and his staff while there as well.
The only thing I'm worried about is being exposed to the WorldWideWes people. 08 planted the seeds for the Super teams.
However, he will get far more experience than playing in summer league versus scrubs.
Davis isn't starting. Sounded like Paul, Kobe, Lebron, Chandler, and someone else that I missed.
Paul, Kobe, Lebron, Melo, and Chandler starting.
Did see AD warming up in the background though, maybe he gets some run.
Blake probably hurt his knee doing something normal, like coming down with a rebound. That's probably what really happened here.
coach K just siad Davis might get some looks tonight.
Silly me.
i doubt AD gets more than 5 min tonight
