Jeff Teague

From what I've read on other websites he'll re-sign. It just sounds like Ferry's focusing on the draft and not FA right now

Interested in Teague at all? I would love him if we don't draft Burke.

I don't mind Teague, but if we don't draft Burke or CJ I'd rather just see how it works out this year with Rivers/GV than get a guy like Teague and wager that he's your PG of the future.

Fair point. I think Burke is a lot like Teague and Mike Conley, solid starting lead guards who can direct a contending club. But I'd be okay with giving the Rivers/GV/Roberts line-up another year. We know GV's limitations (and strengths) but we don't really know how Rivers' might mature at the position. Drafting Dipo or Len would allow that to play out. That said, if the top guys are gone and Burke is sitting there, I'd rather take him and deal with the log jam than pass and reach for another position.

I'm not 100% dying for him, I would like him but if we do have Rivers/Vasquez/Roberts I think we would start Vasquez at the beginning of the year and slowly progress into Rivers.

Im a huge teague fan, i do not think he is like burke though, he is way more athletic, has more hops and way better defensively, he also has a great jumper, he doesnt run the pick n roll like burke or isnt as clutch but Teague is a beast, he has no weaknesses.

Wondering, since most of us believe that the team will not contend in the playoffs for another 3 years, who would you rather have starting at point in 3 years?

until Rivers proves himself the answer is easily teague or burke

I really can't wait to draft him in 09; I think he could be a stud... He could come in and bring that youth off the bench.

Agreed, and Burke has not even played a game.

I understand why Vasquez just does not fit with the pelicans espcially being a running mate for Davus, but can you shed some light as to why Teague would fit well with the pelicans and the style of play the would like to run?

Sure, Teague does a lot of things well, and almost nothing wrong, his only negative is his average of 2.7 turnovers but i can get over that, per 36 minutes he avergaed 17 points and 8 assists and 2.5 rebounds while shooting over 45% from the field and 37% from 3. He has great size, is lightning quick, can finish at a high percentage and he actually can throw down the thunder when he dunks, go check out his highlights, he is also a good passer and good defender.

If he wins it again this year will he be a 2-peat, repeat, or two-time MVP? I'm not sure which one sounds better.

Sadly, yes he is restricted. The only way he leaves is if someone gives him a ridiculous amount of money or if the Hawks pull off getting both Dwight and CP3.

If you go after him have to believe that he's a 10+ million player. Since he's restricted, overpaying him would be the only way to land him.

This was great thinks! to bad he is a restricted free agent, which from comments here makes it unlikely we could land him. I personally do not want Monty to have to develop more players, so I would rather have a Veteran PG for this team. According to my knowledge this leaves Brandon Jennings, who is also restricted, but people bucks want him gone, and Eric Bledsoe.

A lot to ask, but which is better for the pelicans and who is easier and more likely to obtain?

Which is better? Hard to say, Teague is 1 year and 3 months older than Jennings and jennings actually has less turnovers than Teague but Teague shoots a higher FG% percentage but Jennings a higher 3pt%

Jennings is a slightly better passer and they are about the same defensively

Jennings has more potential because he is younger, and never had help besides this year, Teague has Josh Smith and Horford, which might have boosted his assists #'s

Also Jennings really turned it on at the end of the season and improved his performance

Dell is also super high on Jennings.

Who do I think is better? I dont know but both would be expensive...

i wouldnt be against a future team that looks like this at all:

davis

jennings, gordon and porter can all score, pass and defend, they would be very hard to stop offensively and defensively.
