Would You Rather Trade Gordon For...

1, 3, 4, 5, 8, and 10 I think just won't happen or I wouldn't want,
9 and 2 I like Kawhi and Bledsoe but I don't think that is enough return, maybe if we waited till we saw what Gordon would be like through the first half of the season and reevaluated
I'd take 11 or 7
7 would give us an amazing front court, possibly elite depending on how you see Davis' future(but don't forget about Anderson and JSmooth), don't think anyone could argue with that. Draft 1, sign 1, trade Vasquez/Lopez/? for 1(or another pick):SG, PG, or SF, we know there are a couple of each in our pick range.

I'm actually into 6. I think Valanciunas can be very, very good in this league, and I think Derozan is about as valuable is Gordon since he at least plays in games.

Call the Suns, they gave their cornerstone a max contract, see if they still want their cornerstone.

Ask for their first round pick(even if it has to be top 2,3 protected) and Jarred Dudley. Hell, try and squeeze a lakers pick out of them, but find out if OKC still wants a Perkins for Gortat deal to get from under Perkins' contract.

If OKC still wants to get rid of Perkins that badly, take the deal that the Suns turned down this past deadline, if it wasn't just a rumor.

Gortat for Perkins, Toronto's pick, Lamb, PJIII and Thabeet.

If all that falls in line, assets galore!

He's just excited about the offseason and he makes the board more active with his opinions and ideas.

Why are people suggesting that we could get the Suns first round pick for Gordon?

iirc, it has already been established that the Pelicans can not trade Gordon to the Suns until after July 2014. The NBA Draft is June 27th.

In fairness to Guru nobody has to read his ideas. The thread title clearly prepares you for a trade proposal. You don't want to engage in this kind of talk simply just bypass the thread altogether.

On subject I'm more in favor of trading for draft picks. I think teams value players more than picks outside of what is likely to be top 3 picks.

However I do love Kawhi Leonard. Unfortunately I think Pop and Buford are in love with him as well. Gordon doesn't seem like Pop's kind of player. If EJ thinks Monty is a hard coach he hasn't seen anything yet.

The trade with Toronto seems interesting. Dorozen would fill in for Gordon and Vac would allow AD to stay at PF which I feel is better for his long term development. However Dorozen just signed a big deal that starts next season. Not sure what TOR interest level in EJ.

Magic trade looks promising as well. I wanted us to trade for Vuvecic before we ever got rid of Okafor and Ariza. I really liked him out of USC. So that may be worth a gamble as center is a position of need. I'm not crazy about the other parts of that trade though. Honestly not sure if ORL wouldn't rather have Affalo over Gordon.

OK if so that's a good find. We could always just let PHX draft for us then trade once Gordon is available. Which essentially works out as the same thing.

Which teams do all the time. The parameters of the trade will already be in place, all the players decided upon. They would draft for us and when the date comes, all the players would then be traded, veterans and rookie draft picks.

I think it is July 2013 (not 2014) that he can be traded to the Suns (one year, not two).

1. That offer from OKC was never on the table for the Suns.

I'm not sure I want Evan Turner. I was luke warm on him last year. I proposed a trade of Okafor and Ariza for Vuvecic and Turner with some filler for money purposes. The idea that Philly could have use those to along with Iggy and Holiday to become the best defensive team in the league by far going into the playoffs and we were at the very beginning of a rebuild.

I love Cousins as a talent, but it has become too obvious to ignore he needs veteran leadership and we lack that almost as much as we lack talent. People always kill me because I want a ton of draft picks and guys on rookie contracts. They point to Sacramento as proof a ton of young talent doesn't work. I've always said you need the right group of young guys. Some young men are internally driven. It why I covenanted MKG so much last year and Burke this year (you can add Oladipo to that list). Their work habits and/or effort on the court were apart of their bios as much as their given skill set.

As for point number 2, even if they wouldn't, we have to ask, we won't know that they actually won't, until we try. I would still take Dudley, another young vet shooter to take some of the pressure off of Ryno, and the lakers' pick + other descent assets, maybe a future pick.

At this point, let him go so we can use that salary on some other player or players.

Gordon for klay and Richard Jeff. Salaries work an Jeff is an expiring. I think we are overrating his worth. Klay is only 23

I would take just about any of those at this point

I most certainly think PHX is in play.

1st this is their contract to begin with. For me it all starts there.

2nd they without a doubt have the best(or at least most proven) medical staff that has held together guys 10-12 years old than Gordon.

3rd none of last year acquisitions are paying much dividends. They need to make the same splash they were looking for last year.

Lastly I think they feel confident Gordon will be there long term.

I wouldn't even ask for Dudley. Like I said before I'd take back Brown and Beasley just for there unprotected pick(or #1 pick protected). Shannon's contract expires after the 2014 season and Beasley's after 2015. Combine they are making like 5 million less than Gordon next year. I would look to take Oladipo/McElmore and Burke with our added pick. Provided we are drafting between 3-8. We can even play Beasley at the 3. I know people don't love projecting too far into the future, but Wiggins and Parker could be option in the 2014 draft to address the SF position. The only need if all prospect work out would be center.

i always confuse Vucovic with Pekovic.... shouldn't we go after Pekovic somehow? this team needs some girth.

There aren't enough hypothetical trade Gordon threads already without this one?

How about Larry Sanders and Jennings on a sign and trade? Milwaukee could lose Ellis, Jennings, and Redick.

That's a huge haul for what most people consider Gordon is worth. I mean we couldn't even get Klay Thompson for Gordon earlier.

Yea ment 2013 but the draft is in June. After we matched Gordon I cant see the Suns willing to do some convulted draft/trade thing where they draft our guy and we trade in July.

Teams do this all the time on draft day. Draft players knowing what team wants him and they tell the other team what player they want with the same pick. Not sure why they just don't trade picks out right in the NBA. How many times have we seen a player get drafted and take pics in that teams hat only to have the guys covering the draft warn he's likely to be traded to team X?

Happens all the time in the draft. A team agrees to a trade and drafts the player that their trading partner requests in order to complete the trade. Nothing unusual at all.
