I do think the hard cap would bring more balance but they also need to get rid of the max contracts and let the elite players get their true value which will also make it harder for teams to bunch up stars.

Looking at the west we have a slim or none chance with the current roster to make the playoffs.
We have a big 2.5 with Davis Cousins Holiday we have no bench weak Head Coach.
If this team starts out the gate below .500 in the first 20 games call it a day.
I know you guys are Potential winners out there but realistically we are what are record says the last 2 years.
The blame of this situation is square on the Owner Mr. Benson.
I have been a season ticket holder since 2010. I have watched the thin crowds over and over.
I see more fans for the opposite team at some games than the home team.
Spurs Cavs Warriors when in town they have more jerseys in the stands than The Pelicans. It's sad but Mr. Benson and his wife sit in their box seats and see this. They hear the loud Boos when Alvin Gentry is announced every game so it's not a surprise.
I am not sure what the future holds on this roster but it don't look like anything close to a playoff ball club. Potential don't win games. Other teams in the West are locked and reloaded.
To be fair though, this is the same roster as last year, and last year we were fighting to stay relevant, this year we will be battling for the 7th or 8th seed. This year will be very interesting, and with this being a make or break year for Demps and Gentry, look for them to attack like a dog that has been locked in a cage.
Big moves coming soon?

And no, my source is not Dell
He is trying hard. I would expect something today or tomorrow

I agree. I'm actually pretty surprised people think this current roster can compete for anything. We can barely compete for a playoff spot, let alone a ring. Roll into next year as is and we'll be competing in the lottery while Cousins walks away and Davis demands a trade.
Atleast we have a timeline today or tomorrow
Can confirm the Wizards are signing guard Jodie Meeks for two-years, $7 million. They're using their bi-annual exception to do so.

WHAT !!
Dell you have been here in New Orleans for 7 Years
Now you are working !!!!
You just gave away the farm yesterday to Holiday
Whatcha gonna do Today Resign Q Tip to a Extension !!!
Top 4 Seed Dell with what? Your current Roster ??
Guys this is why we are 60+ wins in 2 years.
Get Bledsoe!!! Do whatever it takes to get Boogie's Kentucky buddies and keep him happy so he resigns!!!
I agree with you that Moore shouldn't be starting but Hill is a good starter in this league as a fifth option... I bet you would say Zaza, Tristan Thompson, JR Smith aren't starters either... if you surround him with great talent which we have in AD DMV and Jrue and a solid shooter, he could be everything you need in a glue guy... He plays very good defense, hustled and does the grimmy work... He knows his role and is a team first guy... i also think he is only worth 6-8mil but we are stuck with his salary...Both should not be starting tho!!! Give me Hill
if he's thinking top 4 seed then it has to be a pretty significant move right?
What is the realistic price tag for Bled?
Sources: Rudy Gay is leaving OKC visit today, sides still searching for financial path to deal. Sign and trade with Kings remains difficult.

Gay is still part of the Clippers focus, too. Clippers plan to meet with Danilo Gallinari and Gay over next two days. https://t.co/1FuIErBlVh

It's unfortunate the people running are ruining this ball club.
This fake theory that Cousins is going to resign here in New Orleans provided we show stability and win a round in the playoffs.
I think the downside was the Holiday deal. Resigning him was saying we want change but we don't change anything.
Same failed solutions don't resolve tomorrow's problems.
I will be optimistic and let's see what Dell has up his sleeve. Maybe he signs Hayward or makes a blockbuster trade

Danilo Gallinari to meet with Clippers this evening in L.A. Nuggets still not out of picture, though they’re all in on Millsap.

I happen to like Moore. He has good hustle off the dribble and likes to run the break.
I think Hill needs to put the ball on the floor and go to the rack more.
Moore is a high percentage 3pt shooter and a plus defender. He is a great fit as the starting SG. Jrue, Moore, Hill, AD, Cousins should be the Pelicans starting lineup. What we need to do is fill out the rest of the roster with good players.
I would rather CJ Miles, Ben McLemore or Swaggy P... I agree that Hill should handle the ball a little more as he showed a nice drive when he handled the rock in a point forward role here and there... I really liked the combination of Moore and Crawford off the bench tho...
We need to clear the slate of bad dead end deals.
Asik, Q Tip needs to go. Lick your wounds.
Injuries happen to all 30 teams in the league.
We don't want to have 1 injury ruin the season.
Having a solid bench is key next man Up.
Keeping dead end players on the roster holds up opportunities for the younger players to get minutes
My only knock on Moore as a starter is that he is limited... not ideal size, lack first step... To me, his ceiling is not much more than the player he is now...
I still feel his ability to be a consistent catch and shooter(47% catch and shoot player last season) is very valuable in a system like ours with Finch and built around Davis/Cousins, lots of cutting and drawing defenders away from shooters.
You need guys at the guard spots that can make defenses pay to make the whole thing work.
If Moore can just maintain about 41%+ from 3, on about an average 3 attempts per game, he'd be ideal as a starting 2. Kinda like Gordon was during the playoff run. Otherwise he's ideal off the bench.
I'd really like CJ Miles in that Danny Green role either way.
Asik is total deadweight, the Pelicans can and should use the stretch provision to dump his horrible contract. It was a bad contract from the beginning but could be justified because we needed someone to play the 5 and free up AD. With the addition of Cousins there is no purpose for Asik remaining on the roster.
Q-pon could be a good role player if he ever regains form from his injury. That might not ever happen, but the Pelicans are probably stuck carrying that contract and hoping he can come back.
I guess my question is why keep players on the roster that don't get playing time and have 0 future?
Both of these guys are for nothing.
Terrence Jones was a baller still don't get that move? Dante is needed back he is a good player that played hard on defense
