Lol no kidding. We can't have that. We need two way players to make this work. If it would shed cap for us to go get Wall next season i'd be all for it but it doesn't seem that could work.

Dell sees an opportunity to acquire Ryno and an asset for his trouble. A player he lost for nothing last year.
Houston gives up Ryno and Ariza
New York Knicks give up Melo, Lee
Pelicans give up Hill, QPon, and unguaranteed poo poo plater.
The only hang up here is ego and optics. The Knicks want more than a Rockets future pick, Houston wants (and needs) another rotation piece because depth is an issue plus they feel like they are giving up a lot.
Dell is gambling and being opportunistic. I can't blame him.

Anderson back here on a 20 million a year contract to play less then 20 mins behind AD/Cousins is cap management criminality.
Get us Ariza and help shed salary or something and I would be ok.
If we give up Hill and all we get back is Anderson, we're screwed. We already have no wing depth as it is. Hill isn't perfect, but he fills an important role on the current roster.
Free agent Jonas Jerebko has agreed to a two-year, $8.2M deal with Utah, league source tells ESPN.

Well the less than 20min thing I think would be doubtful. You figure even without any SF minutes at all, and even without the extra minutes you pile up when one or the other of the Towers is out, there are still 24-26 nightly frontcourt minutes available beyond Cousins/Davis. Then a few games where he's available but Davis is not, or he's available and Cousins is not. Some mega-lineup minutes where he plays SF next to the Towers to provide a huge and scary scoring counter to Hill's normal statless minutes there. I don't know what the number would be, but it would be easy enough to see him average 25min on the year.
Ariza recruited CP3 to Houston. They're close. I don't see them trading Ariza.
Anderson can't play small forward. That would be a disaster. For better or worse, this team will need Hill to play well at small forward this year.
My best hope out of being a part of this deal is getting back Courtney Lee. Lee would be a great 3 point threat to add.
Ryno is never playing a minute at SF. Just stop.
$20m for 3 years for Ryno is absolutely insane. I have been a pretty consistent defender that Dell has not screwed up every move and things are a lot more nuanced; don't look at things in a vacuum; let's wait and see how things play out, etc.
If we traded for Ryno I would immediately call for Dell to be fired and publicly disgraced. There is almost no situation where i would be ok with taking Ryno back. Ariza? Hell no. Houston could offer us two future 1st round picks and I would laugh Morey off of the phone. For as much crap as Dell gets for "giving out bad contracts" I think 20m/yr 4 years for Ryno is worse than any deal Dell has ever done. And we're going to take him back? No way.
People complain about Asik being dead money. . . Ryno would be $60m over 3 years tied up in dead money for our most stacked position. He would stunt the growth of a Diallo. It would be 20m sitting on the bench to close out games.
No, no. No. There is no argument anyone could make that would make sense for us to ever take on Ryno and his contract. Houston and New York combined might not have enough assets that would make taking on Ryno's contract worth it.
Anderson, Lee, and a DRose s&t all to us is intriguing, although expensive on the cap. Make the trade worthwhile as much as possible.
Listen, I agree that most circumstances that involve Anderson coming back to NOLA are non starters. However, we know that the fundamental roadblock to this deal is NYKs refusal to accept Anderson. Logic tells us that any subsequent teams added to the deal are to answer that question 1st and foremost. I just don't see any other play. Not saying I agree or disagree. I'd Be interested in hearing other theories.

How likely is it that the fourth team is either Detroit or Phoenix? Could we parlay this into Jackson, Bledsoe, or Knight without giving up as much as in a straight up trade? I just don't want to see us take on too much salary for a guy like Ryno that would be a backup. We need guard help and maybe a small forward. Taking on salary for those positions would be tolerable if they are even average NBA level starters. Taking on 20 mil per for any backup is too much. If they aren't playing over 30 minutes a game that would be way too much.
Detroit needs a PF and he has history with Van Gundy is only thing that may make sense but the $20 million is what doesn't make sense.
That gives NY 4 Centers and basically players they won't ever use. Swallowing Asik's contract and never seeing him play again. Ajinca won't see the floor. Other 4 they get back waived right after the trade. I guess it wouldn't matter if they just care about getting several first round picks back and Melo contract off the books.
