Who should become the first person to be drafted to the pelicans?

Oladipo is expected to make his announcement to forego his senior season and enter the draft.

just ran the simulator 10 times and we winded up with the 2nd pick twice and got smart the 6th pick 4 times and got burke and the 7th pick 4 times and got burke

did it 2 more times and got the 3rd pick both times and we got porter

finally got the 1st pick and we took smart so basically its saying this is who we go if we land the pick

1 smart
2 smart
2 porter if smart is gone (surprised it wasnt noel instead of porter)
3 smart
3 porter if smart is gone
6 burke
7 burke
8 burke

Looking at the standings and the remaining games for us, Sacramento, and Detroit, it is highly likely we would slot around 6th. I'm slowly warming up to the idea of nabbing Burke with the pick. I'm a bit torn though. I was rooting for Rivers to become our Point Guard of the future but Burke is to much of a talent to pass on.

I've run it a bunch of times and that is what I tend to get also. All three of those look good to me.

You never know how those ping pong balls will fall come draft night. I'm one of those who feel like it's rigged.

for sure it has to be rigged... happened with Cleveland the year after Lebron left, happened last year when CP3 left and we got AD with the #1 and will probably happen now with the Magic having the #1 in the next draft, after the Howard loss.

The better point would have been Chicago getting it for Rose, but that's why it's a lottery.

I love when the Pelicans and Saints draft best player available. They use FA to address the needs they believe they need.

I'd trade our pick for Jimmy Butler.

He isn't the PG people want to fill out their dream 5,5, but we need offense. He'll join Steph curry and will open everything up inside. He can dribble, create and is 6'3 w a 6"6 reach.

I really want to go SF with Porter, but I don't know if he's a guy that can get us 17-20 points a game. Also, Shabazz is a nut case so I'll pass on him. I say let's get a premier PG that has athletic ability to drive and dish with also a nice jumpshot while we can in either Trey Burke or Marcus Smart.

I want otto porter badly, he did everything on a bad team getting double teamed and shot a high percentage, think he averaged like 17-7-3 or something and he is young, would be a perfect fit on this team, he is awesome on D too. bazz will be a 20-4 guy in the league but i can see porter being a 17-7-3 guy who plays D, ill take porter.

Looks like we will finish with the 5th worst record so theoretically if the lotto went in gordon we have a chance at landing noel, smart, mclemore, porter, burke
