Apparently he's being targeted to help us at the 3.

We won't be able to trade Gordon without taking back salary so its not realistic to trade Gordon and sign both Evans and Iggy this offseason. Its easier just to sign Evans. Plus, Iggy and Evans would provide little perimeter shooting. Neither are as talented as a scorer as Gordon.
Plus he draws fouls. he and Holliday would seriously get us in the lane more and get more FT's; hence opening up Davis for the alley's

our PF isn't just a good shooter, he is elite

I think Vasquez will be used in a sign and trade for Evans.
Well it doesn't matter what team he's on when it comes to free throw percentage and Iggy's was horrible. For Reke being on a bad team, they both shot it around 11 times a game. You would think with Reke being on a bad team, he would of shot way more than Iggy if you go by inflated stats!?!?!
Gordon's perimeter shooting is severely overrated, especially considering he's always on the end of the bench in pennyloafers.
And as I've said numerous times, all you have to do is include one of the 10 teams with cap space in the trade and the Pelicans could take back as little as a future 2nd round pick.
Imagine if we did Gordon for Deng. Surely we could find a 3rd team with cap space that would take Deng free of charge for a 2nd round pick.
I've noticed people just like saying the "the Pelicans". Everybody gets their city/state mentioned except us...LOL
David Aldridge has done this on tv as well.Quote:
Dallas, Houston, Philly.. Atlanta and SA were also mentioned as teams possibly interested in Tyreke .. and now the Pelicans of course
So I guess now the main question is.... do we want Iggy?
Or some kind of combo like Evans and Budinger/Copeland/Webster ???
I kinda like the thought of landing the 2 players. Although Iggy has been rumored here for what.. .3 years now?
Either way... whatever direction we choose makes this team playoff contenders.
Havent seen this on here yet so:
Pelicans in talk with Sacremento to send either @greivisvasquez or @TheofficialEG10 for @TyrekeEvans .. Then go after @iggy!

Holy Hell... so we get them both? That's legit.
How do we make it work financially? Cut bait with all non guarantees and then resign them to go over the cap?
No one will fully absorb his contract since he is injury prone especially a rebuilding team which most of the teams with cap space are.
And Gordon's perimeter shooting is not severely overrated. Im his 3 years in LA his total shooting was around 57% and was a 37% shooter from beyond the arc. You sound silly saying he's not a good perimeter shooter.
Imagine if we did Gordon for Deng. Surely we could find a 3rd team with cap space that would take Deng free of charge for a 2nd round pick
IDK how I like the Holiday and Evans matchup without Gordon. The off ball shooting of Gordon and Holiday and both being able to handle the ball is what makes the duo so special.
Not sure Sacto would want EG especially with McLemore and MT23.
I'm not concerned with the chemistry between Holiday and Evans. We have to remember that Holiday plays with Evan Turner who is also a ball dominant guy. They didn't have too much trouble sharing. The only concern I really have is if we sign Evans and go after Iggy while getting rid of Gordon. I'm not sure how we're going to space the floor with Evans and Iggy on the court together.
I just threw that up there for discussion's sake. Seriously doubt he has any actual inside information.
Keeep Gordon........................!
It amazes me people are going to complain about having 3 ball handlers on the court at once. Holiday will now have the most help of his career and also shot 48% from 3 in off ball attempts so having Gordon and Evans kicking it out won't hurt. Our big men now will have 3 capable players who can run the pick and roll and get to the rim at will. Evans can definitely turn the corner on defense at SF/SG with playing under Monty in a defense 1st system compared to chaos in Sac town. Evans is still very young and has lots of potential to turn into a 35-40% 3pt shooter while getting better on D and learning the game much better all together. He would only add to our extremely young and talented core while fitting great into our offense. Having Holiday, Gordon, Evans, and Rivers would give us so many combinations of lineups throughout the game to make sure we have great players on the court together at all times would make us way better. Scary thing is all 4 of them still have the potential to become better shooters and all around better basketball players.
Dell and Benson really are trying to put together a "win now" type of team compared to being patient and waiting. I kinda like it ha
jrue/rivers
gordon/tyreke
iggy/miller
davis/ryno
lopez/j.smith
championship
how would our outside shooting be terrible? jrue, gordon and ryno all shoot the 3 over 35% not to mention tyreke shot 34% and iggy 33% i think, it would be fine.
Oh and side note, I'd rather keep Gordon than to trade him and go for both Evans and Iggy. I'd rather just us go for one of them unless somehow miraculously we'd be able to sign both of them without giving up Jrue, Gordon, Ryno, Davis.
So adding Andre Iguodala would help our outside shooting, but Evans will hurt it.
Reke shot 2 3s a game at a 34% clip
Shot 12 fgs at a 48% clip
Iggy shot 3.6 3s a game at a 32% clip
shot 11 fgs at a 45% clip
And this was when Reke was option #1 most of the time. Imagine when he's option 3-4 a game. What we need to have 3 guys on the court at a time that can shoot lights out!
I've skimmed through the thread and d not see anyone complain about having 3 ball dominant players. Maybe I missed it, but the main issue with them 3 is defense and how Evans match up with normal size SFs. Guys on the Kings forum is laughing at us playing him at the 3.
Well now they're reporting that Evans doesn't want to go anywhere as a 3, no matter the money.
Sooooo.... as the world turns.
Guys Aminu shot 4 made threes last year!!!!
How will our three point shooting become worse!?
Jon Santiago @itsjonsantiago about 7 minutes ago
Chances Tyreke signs w/ NOLA low if they plan on using him at SF. Source close to Evans says Reke won't "go anywhere for any amount as a 3."
