It says the same thing people have been saying for years. ESPN has no idea what they are talking about.

Heck I just read an article by espn that says jrue is the best valued contract currently in the league...rookie scaled players excluded
I don't agree with UNO that Ajinca is necessarily overpaid, but to be fair Montiejunas and Terrance Jones were both capable of getting minutes ahead of Ajinca and both were paid a fraction of what Ajinca gets paid. I'm OK with Ajinca, because I think you could dump him if you need to. Someone will take that contract. Asik, Gordon, Hill, and now potentially Jrue Holiday, are deals that we all knew going in would be difficult to move. That kills your flexibility. That's why the 25% overpay is important. It has nothing to do with percentage of our cap.
You can justify any contract based on percentage of cap metric. You've talked a lot about the Tyler Johnson's contract. Guess what? It's only 5% of the cap this year and 5% next year. Even when his salary balloons, at most he'll only be 17% of their cap and Riley is projecting him to be his starting SG at that point. Is 17% of the cap too much to pay for a 26 year old starting SG?
Asik is the only bad contract out of those 3......
Ajinca is a backup big on a good contract on a team where the coach only use him against big matchups or if we are short handed....thats not ajinca fault your stats give you the ammo to make him look bad because we all know stats dont tell the whole truth.......gentry does not play the man because he is a small ball coach so you need to add that into account plus your eye test...........i dont know who was out on the market at the time ajinca signed his contract that we could have got that would be giving the results that you would like at that price but it would nice if you can name them.....
This is hill first season here so he gets a pass from me....now hill is on a different team since boogie arrival and it seem like he is finding his role with boogie and AD being the go to guys.......next season i expect hill to be more aggressive and drive to the basket more like he is doing now and not settling for outside shots like he was doing before boogie got here.......hill,AD,boogie and i guess jrue are the core so they need to use these games to figure out what works to get this team better going into next season......i think hill will be better going into his second season with AD and boogie because he will know his role and i also think he will be an ex factor for the team next season plus your stats dont account for hill defense which makes the team defense as a whole better,,your stats dont show that....stats do not tell the whole truth....
you are not fair about montiejunas and jones because we could not have gotten those 2 at ajinca price when ajinca sign that contract.......yall are blaming ajinca for a coach who dont like to play him because of his style of ball......imo put ajinca on the Memphis team or utah then he is a bargain on those teams now and would get a big pay jump on his next contract.....
Stats don't tell the whole story, or not all stats tell the whole story? I pointed out how Hill, for all his defensive positives, is still a negative because of his offense. So what you are getting in great defense, you are losing on offense.
Ajinca shouldn't be here. Further proof that this coach/gm are not on the same page and that one or the other should go.
Asik, much like Ajinca, is more proof that Dumps/Gentry aren't on the same page.
Even if I give you Hill and his net negative, there is no reason why we have Ajinca and Asik taking up space on this roster when guys like Diallo, Jason Smith, Javalee McGee, Speights, or David Lee could do the same job at a fraction of the cost.
So ok with 8M, but not 11M?
Because that is what he is.

Maybe it's time we focused on selling Boogie on the extension. Sign Patty Mills to 5yrs/40, then throw the 2018 first at whoever signs Jeff Teague to a 5yr/100 million deal on 12/15.

I'm going to mention this again, but the two Sac vet PGs both should have an attraction. Collison has all kinds of Pels, Boogie and Jrue connections, but also Lawson, who could come a lot cheaper than his talent and could play the Frazier role. Legit elite NBA ballhandler too, handy for those moments late when you are tempted to give it to Jrue.
