Reke was our highest scorer behind AD last season. What I think is being blown out here, is the instant impact these players will have. they aren't realistically going to walk in, play 35 minutes, drop 20 points each and we go on a 50 game win streak. 15/5/5 from reke, 9/3/1.5 from qpon, and 9/2/3 from cole would be GREAT additions to our scoring lines alone. we're getting 12/4/8 from ish, 3/3/1 gee, and 7/1/2 from td (not taking away from them, they are doing what they can). but thats a 11 point differential in averaging scoring lines between those 6. TD is the only one of the current three with a ts% over .500. everyone of our missing 3 are over .500
then there are the defensive changes on not having ish guarding starters. not saying reke is a defensive guru, but his 1on1 is decent, and he has a major height and wing span advantage. then there's the change in spacing, in having to respect a 3 that can and will shoot the 3 ball. gee is 2/15 for the season. he has come out and said his role is d only, and done that well, but if he was shooting and dropping 3's it would make a world of difference on the offensive end. lord knows he's received the ball open in the corner countless times, but then its either followed by a drive nowhere or a pass to the next guy. and defenders having to stick to reke, and not sag off like they do ish. imagine a world where our cold handed center didn't have every player around him in the paint as teams sag off their assignment because they can. I don't know what people honestly expect. opponent defensive game plans must be fairly easy when they look at our current lineup. "oh hey Snyder, you worried about Gee or Ish shooting you out of this game? no? right but surely you must be worried about Asik then? nope." In the end, it may not result in instant wins, but it sure as hell would change our on court dynamics.
