I don't think we really have a core 4 yet. Until they have some success together, it's too early to say anyone is part of a "core". We have Davis, Jrue, and assets. If Dell loves Vonleh or Embiid, you gotta use those assets to go get the player.
I don't think (or at least hope) Jrue will be dealt come draft day. I think he's way to valuable to our team to let him go. He's the only PG on the team outside of maybe Evans or Rivers if you want to call them that. Wouldn't it be awesome if Dell can somehow deal Gordon for a late first round draft pick.
how good do you guys think Vonleh could be? I didnt see him play but I've seen alot of people comparing him to Taj Gibson (who I would never take in the top 5)
Jrue, Tryeke, Ryno, and Davis are players you can win games with. Now I'd love for Rivers and Ryno to be first off the bench and Ryno to be in at crunch time.
I hope the draft gets here soon, my head is spinning reading all of these possibilities. How can there be so many options without a draft pick? Although I hope someone would give up a lot for one of the Pelicans player or two.
Vonleh is projecting more as a stretch big on the offensive end who could defend centers on the other end. Think Derrick Favors but more perimeter oriented if he pans out.
Yes. Hickson more athletic (despite what combine numbers say) but Vonleh plays with better IQ and is a much better shooter than Hickson coming out. Also, will be much bigger. Probably finishes around 6'10", 260-265. Offensive game, again if it develops (I am not a believer) will probably be similar to Milsap. Can post a bit, can drive, and has perimeter game that I think he likes too much.
So if Dell believes, wouldn't he try to move heaven and earth to make this pairing happen and have his ideal frontcourt for the next 15 years?! Wouldn't it make sense if he was offering up anything outside of Davis and Jrue?
People always say good GMs don't worry about whether or not they're going to be around for the fruits of their labor to pay off... They just make the best moves. Maybe Dell is a good GM.
Na i was on the phone so i couldn't do into detail
He could play PF or C, he is 6'9.5" and has a 7'5" wing span. He is also a freshman and will prob grow another inch.
He was the best rebounder in the country this year, if he put on 15 pounds and grew another inch he would be 6"11 260 and I think he could play center easily. Right now his best position is at PF though.
The Magic could have as much as $33m in cap space, before any rumored trades of Aaron Afflalo that could clear additional salary.
If Dell calls Orlando and offers Rivers, Anderson, Gordon, and a top five protected 2015 pick and an unprotected 2017 pick, for the #4 pick, how does Orlando respond?
They're not a playoff team next season, I doubt they're going to be free agent players, they've got 2 lottery picks in this draft, and they already have a bunch of really young guys.
If Dell believes he is the ideal fit, then yes, it would make sense for him to do anything to go get him. But by pulling Jrue and AD out of the equation you are pulling out the only two assets that can get you in the top 5. Therein lies the rub.
If you watch him play Vonleh is a brute, he constantly puts Bigs in foul trouble because he just bullies them, he isn't a great shot blocker because he isn't too athletic but his post defense is to be reckoned with, it would go very well with AD.
He kind of reminds me of a sack randolph but with defense, but thats just me...
