It can all change in a minute in the off season, you never know what is going on in the background, but doing nothing but trotting out the same scrubs with the same team + Cousins is abusive and dangerous as hell. One injury, just one, the whole season is lost, and you have given Cousins absolutely no reason to believe you are anymore competent and proactive an organization than his last one. You think after 7 years of mealy mouthed get nothing accomplished front office feebleness in Sacramento that he is ever going to want to be a prisoner of that kind of top down incompetence again? He's not a glamour hound. You never did need to sign Paul George to impress him. But you damn well better do something to show that you are proactive, have a vision, and are busting your ****** to win absolutely every game possible next year. Because I absolutely guarantee you he has already heard a full career's worth of "we're building/be patient/trust us" nonsense. Having another franchise just throw a whole pile of mismatched stuff at his feet and say, ok, you fix this, is a really good way to see him look around next offseason for an actual professional franchise to join.
