Who knows what players will be released.
The more we wait at this point the better deals we will be able to find as teams use up their cap space.
It's been clear for awhile Dell is looking at trades, not free agent signings.

1. We're a borderline playoffs team. Our pick is going to be late lottery at best, likely non-lottery, so it doesn't have nearly as much value as it has in year's past. And the bigger point you're missing is Carroll is a useful basketball player. He can actually contribute to a team. Asik is dead weight.
2. Yes, it's true. There are zero teams below the floor: http://www.spotrac.com/nba/cap/
And even if your figures were correct, which they aren't, it would be much more practical for those teams to sign players to smaller, short-term contracts to reach the floor instead ala Reddick.
3. That doesn't work. If the Pistons take on those additional salaries, they go over the luxury. I'm sure Moore and Ajinca are worth that, right? Especially when they need to extend Bradley next year.
KCP is completely unrealistic. Move on.
I still really like Ty Lawson and Thabo Sefalosha. I really wish Dell could get this master plan moving. If there was any way to pull off a Bledsoe like miracle, adding a Lawson and Thabo would really round this roster out.
Waive/stretch Asik and sign D-Rose
1. I've seen teams trade the 18th and 21st pick to move up to select 15th. A few spots is a big difference in value. Asik caught an infection in Mexico he didn't develop heart troubles. He can't contribute for us but he's a decent big off the bench for a bottom 10 team.
2. Brooklyn is still under the floor on your link even with cap holds. They release their cap holds and their close to the $80M figure I gave. Same with the Hawks. They don't get draft picks by overpaying players in free agency to reach the floor. They have an incentive to take on bad contracts while they are rebuilding.
3. I'll agree Pistons wouldn't do that. But we could get a 3rd team involved.
Like I said where there's a will there's a way. Completely unrealistic, you're acting like I'm talking about getting James Harden.. come on man.
It would get the ball rolling and start the process. Waive Asik, then do a s&t for Rose or even Melo, using Moore, Hill, and a first rounder for either one. We want Bledsoe and KCP, but at least the Knicks have made it clear that neither one are in their team's plans. Asik and/or Hill's contract have to go for us to make a move if we're trying to
I have google search tabs of "pelicans rumors", "pelicans trade", "Eric Bledsoe pelicans", "Derrick Rose pelicans", "Carmelo pelicans", and the team page on rotoworld open in Safari on my phone, refreshing them every hour, desperate for news to come out about us showing interest or trying to make something happen
It's just frustrating at the moment. We all want something to happen, and that string of tweets from MM didn't help. Now we're all sitting on our hands. But we've got a long way to go until the season begins. Something is bound to happen in the next few months.
1. I stopped taking this point seriously when you said Asik could still be a useful basketball player. And even if you think he's going to play steady minutes for a team again, which we honestly don't know at this point, it doesn't change the fact that he's simply not a good basketball player anymore. If he's not dead weight, he's surely close to it.
And if you think the difference in picks that far down matters, then you haven't been paying attention to drafts in year's past: http://www.82games.com/nbadraftpicks.htm
2. That's my bad, I was using last year's floor. Your initial premise was we can trade our bad contracts onto teams that need to reach the floor. You have named 2, the Nets and the Hawks.
3. So now we have to move 4 players, to 2 teams, to get a 3rd team involved, and put together a package that makes it worth it for Detroit to take on additional salary when they have to preserve space for Bradley's extension next year? All while being an over the cap team.
Here's a list of somewhat available players that Pels still could add in the next few weeks/months:
Bledsoe
Lin
Lawson
Clark
Rondo
Cunningham
Ellis
T.Black
R.Kelly
T.Robinson
And of course surprise trade options
1. I'm not going to defend Asik any further lol.
2. Those 2 we can make deals with.
3. Idk how it can be done exactly, there are many different scenarios in which it is possible. I just know those are the guys that have to be moved in order to make room for KCP and that they are movable. I listed the teams I thought we can make a deal with, you don't agree and that's fine.
Did any of you remember a trade of Dell that leaked in the press before it actually happened? (Apart form the CP3 one)
I know it is frustrating but just wait and see.
Guys ever think Dell Demps hands are tied?
Maybe ownership has told him stand down?
It's obvious ownership doesn't want to spend any additional money otherwise Demps would have made a move.
Just my thoughts on this.
Free agent center Aron Baynes has reached agreement on a one-year, $4.3M deal with the Boston Celtics, league sources tell The Vertical.
