we all knew this was going to happen
just saying that the domino has or is in the process of falling
for those asking about a possible Lin trade

Toronto has traded DeMarre Carroll, a future first-round and second-round pick to Brooklyn for Justin Hamilton, league sources tell ESPN.

For Toronto, this was a salary dump of the $30M owed Carroll across next two seasons. Both picks to Nets are 2018. https://t.co/AcK98wnLzp

Carroll can become Nets starting small forward in short-term. Kenny Atkinson coached him in Atlanta, loves getting chance to do it again.

I'm neutral... just trying to report actual news
just saying that if the rumors of the Pels being interested in Lin are true... the Nets needed to free up the money from the Porter offer sheet... which happened or is about to officially happen
then BKN is going to throw an offer at KCP
should he sign there... that should make Lin expendable and the Pelicans can make the play
Yeah. You're still doing it.
Who said anything about hope? What, like I don't know we've got issues from the top down? I'm not talking about the team's future outlook. I'm talking about what you're focusing on and how I always see people with a negative opinion of things who insist they're the only ones who can accept the truth. And the fact that you actively hold your view over others like it's superior.
You don't need to hope. To each their own.
So on the flip side of to each their own, do you need to tell other people that their actions are a waste or will turn out badly? If it was an act of altruism, that'd be one thing. In my experience, it's more for the negative type's own benefit in some nihilistic way.
Why are we so worried about getting Lin? He is not going to make or break the team. Unless we are offloading Asik then it's not even worth the worrying.

Nobody is trading for Asik. Let it go.
It's not likely. Doesn't mean it won't happen. I mean, not like teams trade for players then buy them out. I mean, Jamal Crawford was due a not insignificant sum of feta wasn't he? How much more did the Hawks eat than a team would eat if they bought out Asik right now?
No matter how bad you guys want to move on from him it boils down to another team wanting to take him. Asik has 0 trade value.
Oh man oh man. I've missed you.
But how did you know we posted about you? Hahaha.
It's definitely an interesting life. Lol
And I am back saved in here until my next phone upgrade.
I really dislike MM. I would probably choose Buckwheat over him, to be honest. But even if the trade happens he could still have inside info. Like someone said earlier, he could be hearing that we are trying insanely hard to get someone and then it just doesn't work out.....so the trade doesn't happen but he still had inside info.
Asik lost a lot of weight. Maybe he worked on his stroke. Got his 3pt % into the 40s and can play SF.
Cost of dumping Carroll was lottery protected first and late second rounder. But he still can play. And is owed 30 millions.
Asik is owed 25 nad cannot play recently.
I think that to dump him you will need top-10;protected first and second rounder.
Which means attaching him to Lin you will need probably two firsts. And Bledsoe? Jeez...
I'd rather stretch him and use AA and QPon in a trade
btw. is Asik fit again ? did not hear anything after his bacterial infection
I haven't seen or heard any news on him since march or so. Someone said they had caught sight of him at a restaurant with a few ladies still looking very skinny. I imagine he isn't in good shape, otherwise the Pels would be doing their best to pump out the positive spin on him in hope of trying to move him. I think a buyout is the best option, that way we keep our pick (which its going to cost at least a first and second) and just wear the money side of things - but he needs to agree obviously.
All this trade talk for bledsoe... is this simply this board making this up as a 'I wish this will happen' or is there some substance to it?
When healthy that dude is a superb player and we'd end up with 4 quality starters.
What about getting Wes Mathews and dare I say Harrison Barnes from the Mavs. I think that is exactly what this team needs. Barnes as a 3rd/4th option with Jrue. Barnes is younger then Gordon Hayward and much cheaper while having just as good of a season if not better with absolutely no help. Barnes did exactly what many hear doubted and consistently created his own shot shooting a very good FG%. He was literaly the only players teams were worried about hurting his 3pt% but here that would. It be an issue. Having 2 bigs like AD and Boogie would be an even better fit for Barnes then GS imo. While Mathews is the perfect 3 and D SG for this team to start with Crawford off the bench. I don't know if the Mavs want to be that bad for Dirks last 2 years though. Never know sometimes teams go into sell mode so it's hard to predict how available they even are. Acquiring those 2 guys would give us a squad I would feel very good about

Lotta snakes out there #grasscut
Hmmmmm......
Not that I don't appreciate knowing what the league is doing, but it is more or less reminding Pelican fans of what is not happening for the Pelicans. It is becoming evident the team invested money in fringe players who have little or no value on trade day. I am at a point where you put the young guys out there with the big three and see what you have. Asik has no business on this team, and I am not a fan of some of the other veterans either. I go with the youth.
Honestly I don't question the fact that he has a good source with legitimacy regarding the knowledge of the thniking of the FO. But every single time he comes with a new (and false) inside info regarding a move, I question more and more the quality of the info. I suspect that the front office use MM to throw rumors around to test fan reactions and also to create smokescreen.
Not related but I have to confess, I'm impress by Sean Marks. He went into a terrible situation and turn it around with patience.
