Game Thread: Magic @ Hornets

You really don't get it. I'd be happy with Greivis if he was just a solid overall defender. But he isn't.

Nobody is looking for a top 5 or top 10 PG, I just want someone who won't hurt us.

Are you also itching to get rid of Anderson? He isn't very good on def either.

Outside of a few ill advised shots last night I don't see how GV has been hurting us.

But he's also coming off the bench and provides far superior offense. Also, Anderson is way better than vasquez on defense. Sorry to burst your Vasquez love bubble.

And his issues of defense are now being compounded with him displaying the ability to chuck at the most inopportune times.


2nd or 3rd in assists, but prone to forget about passing for moments. Funny how that works.

I agree, and I would even say that Eric Gordon's 5 assists added way more value to the team that Vasquez's 8 assits. Gordon was making some crazy good passes that Vasquez never sees or fails to execute.

Even more so is how people who want to build around a sg that can't stay healthy, and shoots worse than a shot happy pg.

Cause he's Venezuelan and from Maryland.

Vasquez's offensive rating is 105 compared to his defensive rating of 111. That shows his offense doesn't compensate for his lack of defense unlike Anderson who's offensive rating is 117 compared to his defensive rating of 111.

No. If the right deal came along I would move him. I am in favor of drafting Burke. If the right deal didn't come along I would hold on to him til he was off my books next year.

Then what are you even trying to argue if you are ready to draft Burke? If you are willing to take a rookie with no experience over Vasquez, then you are saying Vasquez needs to go... like most in this thread.

No, I believe that Burke will be a top 5 pg from what he is showing now. That's why I would let GV go. I think you can throw Burke in there on day 1 and he will be an impact player from day 1 (unlike Rivers who many believe is our pg of the future).
Many here want GV gone for the sake of having him gone.

I want GV gone so we can have better play from the PG position. If that means Burke or trading for a PG, or signing Jennings.

I'm not in love with Assist totals. Like I said, I think Gordon's 5 assists last night were more valuable to the team.

Cool story. Lets throw rivers in there right now. He will probably perform leaps and bounds better than GV. I mean he has been doing so all season right?

I really don't think we'll be drafting Burke 4-6. If anything we get "stuck" with taking Smart if they want a PG and moving GV is in the plans.

I am fine with Smart. But if he doesn't pan out Lord help this board. The *****ing and moaning.

He doesn't have to do well, he only has to keep progressing for the 100th time we aren't competing next year

looking back at this game and a couple things jump out at me besides the porous defense in the second half.....Gordon pretty much went awol in the second half offensively and he didn't get to the line a single time all night....that kind of offensive production (or lack of) just won't get it done....

....and it's also clear to everyone that you are wrong as well dude. But it really doesn't matter, Monty just said that he's taking the ball out of Greivis Vasquez(sir brain fart) hands and putting it in Eric Gordon's hands down the stretch to close out games!
Though I give Greivis credit for having the nuts to take that last sec shot to win a game w/o blinking, time after time again!

A teams PG should never lead his team in shot attempts in a game consistantly

If ANYTHING we need the ball in Gordon's hands late in games to up his stock for this summer. Especially in games where he's hot and hitting those step back jumpers.

Yeah last night Gordo was hitting at .500. Why GV didn't hit him more was upsetting.

News Flash: This Draft class isn't all that, it's very average!
IMO, one point below average to be honest. There's not one kid in this draft that going to turn a NBA franchise into a winner! So depending on this draft class will only set fans up for mental failure. Tickets sales are already low, the team needs to win Now, after building off of this season the Hornets need a key FA to pair up with our already young core talented guys in AD, Rivers and Anderson!
Another rookie would only add to more headaches w/o a key +23yr old NBA vet signed from freeagency!

This draft is better than people give it credit for.

It doesn't have a Anthony Davis or Kyrie Irving but it has guys who will be real good players.

This is a very solid draft. Last year it was just AD and a bunch if ALSO RANS. this year you have 7 guys whonare legit, and 1 guy whonif he came out last year would have been a top 3 pick. The draft is far from weaks. i venture to say that thus draft is going to net us our 2nd or 3rd piece to our big 3. So I would call this draft very well distributed.
