Is it possible to sign him back?
Soon to be a Warrior?
My piece arguing why the #Warriors should *eventually* sign Omri Casspi is now up on @AthleticNorCal: https://t.co/vbqTuslHae pic.twitter.com/DvoICoBSPq

Casspi to the Wolves
Cutting him was short sighted, now official.
Yeah true! At least we got Crawford. Typically Demps! Short sided and doesn't get it all the way right.
But you haven't seen the long sight yet. So I think we would have to see the contract he's signing with the Wolves for, and who we add to the roster during the offseason, before you can officially declare the move short-sighted. If we get an even better player fitting during the offseason, and releasing Casspi and his contract could have helped in that process, then it could play out as a long-sighted move. Could also say that if it weren't for releasing Casspi, they would have never found J-Craw playing so well here. Just saying, still a long sight to be played out before you can officially stamp it as short-sighted.
This now makes two solid bench SF's that we had on this team and let go for no good reason: James Ennis and now Casspi.
Yes clearly there was "no" reason when Casspi was waived. . .
Yeah true! At least we got Crawford. Typically Demps! Short sided and doesn't get it all the way right.
I didn't say "no" reason, I said "no good" reason. The difference is what I said was merely a value judgement.
Which is relative, sure, but I don't see you offering up what that wise reason was? Keeping in mind Casspi would not of prevented us from finding and signing Crawford. Casspi just would of ate up that spot we have used on 10 day contracts guys that rarely, if ever, saw the floor since he went down.
And i am not so much mad as I am frustrated at what it signals in my mind, that we have some serious tunnel vision on this years playoffs right now. Which gets back to one of my ongoing frustrations with this organization, which seems to be the valuing of immediate results, even if illusory, over measuring success by improving process and increasing organizational health. Keeping the bigger picture in mind.
Why wouldn't he just resign here as opposed to Minnesota?
when we first got casspi in a trade,,he didnt want to be here....i didnt care for him when we received him with boogie so im glad that he signed with someone else.....imo him breaking his thumb was a blessing for us to find some hungry guys to fill our bench out....forget him...
The reason was simple. Moore was out, Casspi had a broken thumb, Frazier had a wrist injury, we have just traded away all of our guard depth. We had an agreement to offer him again as soon as he was healed and would have kept his Birds Rights.
It does not affect us long term at all. Omri is a 9th man. An oft injures 9th man at that. If we want him this summer we can still offer a contract and get him. His Birds Rights would also be irrelevant if we operate under the cap this summer anyway.
What we didn't account for was Omri healing faster than his timetable but given the situation I don't think it's fair at all to blame Dell for wanting to get healthy players in here. Every year you can pick up a player like Casspi. To get hung up on him like some of our fans have done is pathetic. To try to use it as some. Crucial with which to scream at how bad Dell is, is even worse.
Were we supposed to offer him some type of crazy deal? Lol obviously chose money not like he went to a contender
