It drives me crazy when people equivocate the potential greatness of a draft with its potential role player depth.

I will be upset if we trade Jrue man. I will have to change my name again! arg. please tell me it's not so MM. Tell me there is no way dell would do that.

These draft rumors are getting more and more ridiculous by the minute. Why in the world would we trade Jrue for the 8th pick? Nobody should be taking these sorts of rumors seriously.

Man, I went from looking forward to the draft to just hoping it gets over with so these insane rumors will stop. Not a site I despise more than Sheridan Hoops. Purposely troll just to get clicks. This same guy last year said in every mock draft that his source told him it was a lock that Len was going #1 all the way up to the last minute.

Pay no attention.

I'm really only watching this draft to see where Elfrid Payton ends up.

Love Denver as a fit for him. I think he and Lawson would really play well off each other. Ty is more of a combo guard IMO. Payton can lock up teams best guard, whichever position he happens to play

This is Marketing Amigo, there's nothing you can do about that.... Since 1979, as Mark Cuban likes to say, they've marketed themselves as "The worldwide Leader in Sports" And if you say the same thing to enough people for long enough, that's what they end up believing. It's the same reason why people go to the Olive Garden when the restaurant next door has great Italian food. This isn't pure competition, it's an Oligarchy. And the casual fan would never make his way here, or to Amin's posts. When you watch NBA basketball games, you don't see Amin Elhassan and Kevin Pelton. I think that's the Oligarchy driving the content.... and creating storylines, which given their multimillion dollar budget, aren't going to go away anytime soon. Unless you guys have a few million laying around :hihi:

I think that this is an even worse critique of people, because you are essentially saying people have no free will. That they dont know what they want and they just accept whatever is given to them.

I might agree with that if ESPN wasn't versatile. I mean, they do have Zach Lowe and he does tremendous breakdowns. And yet, he doesn't get 1/10th the views of a 'Sources say' article by Broussard or Stein, etc. People have a choice and they choose rumors.

Not NBA related but to add to the media wanting to be the first with breaking news, does anyone recall a couple seasons back when MNF was covering the Steelers game and Rick Riley (unknowing that they were live) told Stuart Scott to say that he had broken the story first (and Steve Young gave him the stank eye), and later it was found out that in the process of lambasting Riley some other media guy came out and said he was the first to report it and not Riley?

We all assume that we have our core. What if what we really still have is just AD and better assets than we had when we drafted AD 2 years ago. Now, considering what we gave up, I think Dell really likes Jrue.

So now we've got AD and Jrue. But everyone else is just an asset. If everyone else is just an asset, what could we possibly do with Anderson, Withey, Ajinca, Tyreke, Austin, Pierre, Gordon, and 2015 and 17 1st rounders?

I think we have ammunition to at least make phone calls pursuing a lottery pick. Celtics(6), Lakers(7), Kings(8), Hornets(9), and Nuggets(11) have all been mentioned in possible trades for their picks because they want to win sooner rather than later.

Surely given the assets we have, we could put together something that might get us one of those picks, without giving up Jrue or Davis. Now some of us fans might not like it, but if it's just step one in a very busy off season plan, it could be the best thing long term for our franchise.

It is a bad critique, but I don't think it's untrue. What ends up on the front page? Lowe's breakdown or Brussards "Sources?" (Que Meme)

Who's on Sportscenter breaking things down? Lowe, helping you make sense of Lance Stephenson as a player? Or Brussard, and his insight on Lebron's current mindset? Yes, it's there.... but the reason there's 1/10th of the viewers is because it takes extra effort to find it..we're a society of convenience, why waste the time when "your worldwide leader in sports" will put it right on the front page for you? I'm not speaking to a group of individuals... I'm speaking of the macroscopic "collective conscious." "I much prefer the sharpest criticism of a single intelligent man to the thoughtless approval of the masses."

The fact is, we've all had a good hamburger (vegetarians excluded). Most of us know how to make a good one, and if we don't we surely know where to find one. Why, then, do all of the awful burger chains stay in business? You could say it's cheap but I'd argue you can make one cheaper. It's the convenience factor.

Would I trade jrue for a top 5 pick? Only if I could land one of the top 3 of embiid wiggins or Parker. Besides that no, I wouldn't give him up for vonleh or exum. would I trade tyreke for a top 12 pick? If I could land levine or vonleh yes if not no

We're talking about Dealer Dell and Mickey "I just signed Jairus Byrd and nobody saw it coming" Loomis. These are two of the most aggressive GM's in sports.

I know we love our guys, but I honestly wouldn't bet on Dell/Loomis viewing anyone as untradeable outside of Jrue and Davis. And Jrue could probably be had if the deal was right.

Surely folks would have to listen if Dell offered Tyreke, Ryno, Pierre and a 2015 pick. If Dell thinks there is the perfect frontcourt complement to Anthony Davis available somewhere in this lottery, it's worth it to get that guy on a rookie deal. Then spend the rest of your offseason going after a SF.

Maybe Dell is thinking, "what if I had the opportunity to get Robinson and Duncan on rookie deals within 2 years of eachother..."
