His 4th year is a player option and I don't see him turning down 15 million
The whole point of keeping him right now is to raise his value. He's obviously been injured-plagued the past few years and he has not played extremely well this season, so once he plays more and hence will hopefully raise his value and get healthier, we will be able to trade him for more before he opts out in a few years. We will not compete for a championship next year, but acquiring better pieces in the next couple years is no doubt in our best interest.
Gordon still does have great value, regardless of injury the suns wanted to give him a max also but I'd still play it out til the end of the year let him get in his groove and destroy people then trade him for better value
His name should be "irony."
To me, It's very hard to predict if EG will remain in New Orleans, but something and I can't explain it has me seeing Gordon in a Pacers uniform either this season or next. If nothing happens by this summer, I don't think anyhing will.
I have no idea what a trade to Indiana would look like, and I do not think Monty is going to give Rivers the starting SG position. (Just yet). FA and the draft may play into it. I thnik Indiana has some pieces that would fit in New Orleans and this past summer there was more than a little mutual interest between Gordon and the Pacers. Just a thought.
Such a pessimistic optimist.
What is up with all these weird threads lately? :hihi: It's like they handed out bath salts at the last signing event or something.
GORDON! DAVIS! MY HEAD IS POUNDING BUT IT SMELLS SO GOOD!! :happy2:
to be honest I want the guy traded, I feel that he will never live up to his max contract, and he doesn't do enough to be the cornerstone to carry us to contention. You see guys like derrick rose feverishly rehabbing every day and he comes out himself and says "I'm not coming back until I'm 110%" and their fans love it because they know that he will work his butt off until he reaches that point and that he wants to comeback more than anything. With Gordon everything is a guessing game, we don't even really know what the hell is wrong with him or even if he wants to be here or if he will remain here. He doesn't inspire hope for the franchise like a "cornerstone" should. I have other problems with his game too but I won't rant into that. But Inner_GI is right, he is here and while he is here we should hope for the best, it is no use cheering against the guy and by cheering against him we are cheering against the team because he is (supposed to be)a large part of the team
Actually IMO New Orleans has been one of those franchise that has been kinda blessed in terms of losing a star caliber player and somehow getting one in return.
We lost BD and that led to us getting CP3
Then we lost CP3 and that led to us landing Anthony Davis and Eric Gordon
But we still have 3 good years of Eric Gordon at least so lets not worry about this stuff now..... if need be we should start thinking about this stuff in 2015
You might as well change your handle to oxymoron.
if he's not good and plays bad, i believe we'll get around 15-17 million dollars for that 4th season in return. not too bad
Chicago fans feel like that because they aren't paranoid.
Is there any other fan base/team media that tries to off their as much as we Hornets fans do? We all seem like the guy that's always accusing his girlfriend of cheating because she said some other guy was cute on facebook. I mean, how many let's trade Gordon convos can we have on here? get over it, he's a Hornet/Pelican for now AND we are't trading GV,Lopez or Ryno for Brandon Jennings or Kobe....well at least I don't think we are
Optimist my fav poster.
