Makes more sense. I think Hart and Naji back up at Sf/Sg and TM3 plays at back up PF….

Sharife, Springer, Bones, Jared Butler, all still on the board - among others.
Really good value available to people here in the 20s.
As the long list of wings vying for position in the middle of the first round hear their names called, here's a look at the on-ball/off-ball splits of each: pic.twitter.com/7pUThIrQv6

Feels weird how quiet tonight has been interms of major trades.
We've got Ben Simmons and Lillard both potentially up for trades (definitely for Simmons), we've had speculation about Siakam being moved, about Atlanta wanting to get off one of their guys, about Utah wanting to make big changes going forward, and the result so far has beeeeeeeeen
Nothing. No big player trades. People have shuffled picks and minor players, but no major names moving. There's usually at least one.
Edit: Westbrook trade was reporting way in advance of the draft, I mean there's usually something during the draft itself.
New York is trading No. 21 to Detroit, per source.

I agree. I?ve noticed this prior drafts though. Second round they might announce more trades. Seems that teams like to wait until they see who they get in first and early rounds before trades are made. At the end of the draft it?s a mess because it all happens at once

Knicks do not want a PG
I see people saying that it wasn’t good pick for upside or whatever. In 2016 if we would of taken Brogdon, who also went to Virginia, over say Skal Labissi?re or any other high upside guy you would of been saying the same thing
Sources: Wizards selecting Isaiah Jackson at No. 22.
— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) July 30, 2021
The problem with that take is that Skal was not a high upside guy. He was a guy who was actually much more in the Wiseman mold: that is, big measurements but is bad at the actual game.
A more accurate comparison would be Brogdon over, say, Pascal Siakam, who was a real project - that is, a guy who clearly had stuff to learn but who had good measurements and dominant statistical profiles and production.
Skal shot 52% from 2 as a 7 footer, shot 65% from the FT line, had a negative offensive BPM, and an assist percentage of 3% lmao
Wizards send No. 22 (Isaiah Jackson) to Indiana for Aaron Holiday, sources said. https://t.co/AL16Q42AFN

Let the trades begin!
Pacers and Knicks: both in real need of a primary initiator
Pacers and Knicks: both have had 2 picks already in this draft
Pacers and Knicks: Both decide not to draft either Sharife or Springer
????
Houston is targeting Usman Garuba at No. 23, per source.

Another big for Houston
Also high on Houston's board with No. 24 looming: Josh Christopher, per source. https://t.co/6gRsfP3Nzm

Wow. I honestly feel like, if we keep the pick, there could still be real value on the board at 35.
Is this like last year where Xavier Tillman went in the late 30s and then was immediately impactful and good as a rookie? Can we pick up a Tillman type?
Between Josh Christopher, Jalen Green, and Kevin Porter Jr, the Rockets are just collecting dudes who are nuclear athletes that run on vibes
The Knicks are on the board at No. 25 and they're targeting Quentin Grimes, per sources.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) July 30, 2021
Still on the board:
Springer
Sharife
Bones
JT Thor
Jared Butler
Jalen Springer fall to 34/35 I forget the pick? Lol I hope so
I love how the Knicks had 3 first round picks, desperately needed a lead guard, and drafted one guy and they can't dribble :hihi:
Tim Connelly's draft board in Denver for No. 26 has a name atop it, per sources: Bones Hyland of the mighty Atlantic 10.

Denver sweep Bones off the board
I dig it.
A team with no identity drafts a player purely by talent and skillset, alone. A team with an already established core has to add fit and need into the equation. IF the team is moving away from Zo and Hart, I really like this pick.
I still can't believe some people had Obi Toppin top 5 in that draft.
At some point people will realise that being a dominant player isn't super impressive when you're ancient compared to everyone else in college, and when you can't move backwards as a big your defense is going to be atrocious.
But I guess they made up for it with Quickley
Sharife
Springer
Butler
JT Thor
Deuce McBride
All still on the board
The 2nd round gonna have a few 1st round prospects. Did Springer just tank the interview process?
Brooklyn is keeping its pick at No. 27 for now, because LSU's Cam Thomas is still on the board, source tells ESPN.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) July 30, 2021
Brooklyn taking Cam Thomas
I have no idea. I didn't hear anything noteworthy, good or bad, about his interviews or workouts.
Every year this happens, it feels like. Xavier Tillman going in the late 30s last year, people drafting Nesmith over Bane, etc etc. Always one or two who slide hard.
There goes Cam
Damn I love Cam but I’m a little biased. Dude can straight up score tho and Brooklyn is adding that damn
Cameron Thomas to the Nets is a wise move to try and groom a Kyrie replacement.
Cam Thomas is one of those guys who I feel makes complete sense as a backup microwave scorer and zero sense in any other context.
The decision making is a mess, he would rather take any number of awful shots than pass effectively, and the defense is whatever, but if his only job is to come in and take 15 shots in 20 minutes, he's shown some wild shot-making ability.
Bobby Marks likes Cam Thomas
Assuming he actually gets minutes
There will be at least one game next year that the Nets win because Cam gets hot and hits like 8 threes, and there will be another game where they lose because he decides it is Cam Thomas Time and turn their offense into a smoking crater of ego shots
Nesmith finished well compared to how he started, but the passing was still terrible, the defense was still bad. Basically what changed for him is that the shot picked up and started falling more.
My problem with Nesmith is not ''Nesmith will never be a playable guy'', because I'm sure he will. My problem with Nesmith is that he was lauded as the best shooter in the class when he just blatantly wasn't, and as a result teams bought the hype and he got picked lottery when he just shouldn't have been. Not Nesmith's fault, but a problem with how a lot of people view the draft.
I hope we get Springer! Well forget that
At the top of the Daryl Morey and Elton Brand draft board in Philadelphia at No. 28, per source: Jaden Springer.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) July 30, 2021
Springer comes off the board!
Sixers get Maxey and Springer in back to back drafts when they need functional guards and shooters, basically because everyone else in both years passed on them for no reason
