I really think its going to be Krewe. Monty said it in the post game interview the other day and Bob Licht said it twice tonight during the broadcast. And I mean he just referred to the team as the Krewe.

Reapers. Wow. Dude (or dudette) literally suggested that today and I ran with it. Didn't realize it picked up a following till I started reading posts not adjacent to my own.

I kinda hope it's Krewe cuz I've heard the most venomous things about it in particular. Most people say names are stupid, but I've heard people say they'd rather stay Hornets than be the Krewe. Insane stuff. Makes me want Krewe more.

Until I heard of Reapers that is.

Me either. It seems to be getting out in the public as well, random friend mentioned it to me yesterday who is just a mild NO fan.

I prefer Voodoo, but with Benson owning the rights to Pelicans I don't think you can count that out either. I also would replace ArcAngels with something Piratey, if not for the nice logo bigdub did I think the only person interested in ArcAngels would be Hornets78. And Reapers gets zero consideration. It has too many negative connotations while being very similar to what you can do with Voodoo. Basically it's badassness will be it's downfall.

benson just spent over $300 million to buy the hornets. rebranding will have a multi-million dollar impact annually, for the life of the franchise. he's gonna choose the name he thinks will make the franchise the most money in the long-term... any short-term savings from ownership of the name "Pelicans" is negligible.

He only owns Pelicans because he tried to move an AA team in to block the Zephyrs from coming in. He didnt buy it out of some fondness for the name.

IDK. New Orleans has a unique affiliation with death with Jazz Funerals and raised grave sites. IMO Reapers is not too much out in left field. IMO I think Reapers is a much better team name than Pelicans or Brass.

1. I don't want to be named after a trumpet no matter how much it ties in to NOLA

2. I don't want to be named after people who set up the Mardi Gras Carnival

If you wanna do that then you's can join the Mardi Gras and shove the trumpets up your ***...only decent name I've heard is Knights
